First, you must understand the history of Israel and the Arab-Israeli conflict before you can understand the answer to this question. I hope you will also understand that the Israeli government doesn't completely approve of the illegal israeli settlements around the west bank. In fact, Israeli police had to use force to remove several jewish settlements across the bank.
Israel offered the Golan heights back to Syria to improve diplomatic relations, however, complications keep occurring even to this day, such as US interference. The Gaza Strip is not government controlled by Israel, even though it is still considered occupied territory, but the West Bank is partially government controlled by the country. Israel gave back the Sinai to Egypt for peace, even after tactically winning the Yom Kippur War.
Religion also plays an important part in this situation and after winning several wars against Arab countries many Israelis feel that the occupied territories gained should be theirs and this is understandable. The US does not "blindly" support Israel, but I believe that the financial aid should decrease since Israel is a relatively rich country. And when considering UN violations take into account how densely populated the area is and what kind of war Israel is fighting. Terrorists who randomly shoot kassam rockets into Israel from rural areas are hard to take down without civilian casualties.
Lastly, no war that Israel went into was unprovoked the more people understand this the better things will be.

First Israel is no longer occupying the Gaza strip, check your facts.
Second it would not matter, Israel could return all that and more, and there still would not be peace.
The next demand would be to take four million refugees and their descendants that Arab nations have been keeping in UN ghetto camps.
This was never an issue over land, if it was the Jews would have had a small state in 1923.
This is has always been about the existence of a Jewish state in a place that Arabs view as eternal Muslim land.

I'm sure Israel would be willing to abandon the various occupied territories if restoring that 40-years-past status quo were certain to bring peace. The fact that those territories were mostly siezed in wars innitiated by Arab states, however, makes that supposition far from certain. Clearly, the possession of those lands has not, in the past, been sufficient to allow Arabs to tollerate the existance of Israel. Of course, things may have changed, but, it would be reasonable for the Arab world to demonstrate that such was the case. For instance, by ending the constant use of terrorist attacks against Israel...

The Arabs are good at staying on-message. Like the Nazis said, if you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe you.
The "It's all about The Occupation" argument is easily disproven. --Before 1967, before "The Occupation" of Gaza, the West Bank, Golan (which includes Shebaa Farms/Har Dov) the Arabs were still hostile. They wanted to destroy Israel. ALL of Israel was considered "occupied Palestine."
The rhetoric has moderated, except for the refreshing honesty of Hizballah and Hamas, but the sentiment remains the same. Israel pulls out from Gaza--and Hamas attacks settlements within Israel. Israel unilaterally pulls out of Lebanon--the UN signs off on the borders--Hizballah invents another excuse to continue the war (and at one point Hizballah admitted that if Israel withdrew from Har Dov, there were still a few other villages in Israel they could claim were "disputed.")
The more "moderate" Arabs claim to accept the reality of Israel while insisting on the fictional "right of return" which would destroy Israel by demography instead of missiles.
Do you get it yet? The problem is NOT the occupied territories. The problem is the Arabs do not accept the existence of Israel.
Israel has shown it is willing to make peace and withdraw from territories (Sinai, Jordan) when the other nation is sincere. The Palestinians have yet to show similar sincerity in making peace. They continue to broadcast incitement on officially funded TV. They continue to educate their children in hatred and violence. They continue to attempt suicide bombings and attacks on UNoccupied Israeli territory.
The US does not blindly supporting Israel. Israel has given the US a great deal in terms of intelligence, improvements in military hardware, and friendship. The US and Israel share common interests and values: a can-do, pioneering spirit, free speech, and democracy. We have poured more money into Arab nations than we have into Israel, and gotten far less for it.
Israel is not in violation of UN resolutions. Most UN resolutions are from the General Assembly; they are non-binding, and initiated by the Arab nations who use any and every opportunity to attack Israel in every possible forum. The UN Security Council resolutions (everyone quotes UNSCR 242, few have actually read it) is not unilaterally binding on Israel. It recognizes Israel's right for secure borders and the need for a negotiated solution. It is most definitely NOT a demand for unilateral withdrawal, although the Arabs would like you to believe it is.
When the Arab nations and Palestinians accept the existence of Israel, and stop trying to destroy it by hook or by crook, THEN there will be peace.

It's like this, Israel believes God gave them the land they are on now. The Arabs want the land that God gave the Israelis.
(This is just the history of why the fighting started. It's not my opinion or anything)
So they will continue to kill each other over this holy place until the dome of the rock is taken away and the third holy temple of God is built. America thinks that if they side with Israel that God will save them. It's so simple when it's broken down into the religious terms. One has what the other other one wants so they fight. They can't compromise. I wish they could. I wish they could just some of they horrible laws there. But that's the basics of it. Now I haven't given my opinion just the history, OK.

1) You can not coexist with muslim arabs if you are a different religion, particularly jewish. Muslims will not live peacefully with others.
2) Israel is basically putting Palestinians into the same situation as Native Americans were put into. If they allow Palestine to gain power, they will eventually try to take over all of Israel, it is in their plans.
3) Palestinian militants have ruined their chances of gaining independence with their violence against innocent people.
Finally, why cant Palestinians live in Arab nations? There are so many and Jews have but one home land. This whole thing can be avoided if the Arabs just live with one another and leave Israel to the Jews its nothing but a small piece of land.
By the way, if you ever want to visit the holy lands of the various religions, under a jewish state you have little risks. Under a muslim state, good luck ever coming back.

The USA has never held Israel responsible for thier actions when sending them aid. It has been US policy since 1967 to oppose Israeli settlements in Palitinian lands, but we never apply pressure. We do that with every other country in the world as a condition for aid, but not Israel.
Justice for all must be the goal in the Middle East or there will never be peace.

Let me tell you something, If you would read a little history you'll know! And I'll explain anyway,it's as simple as that:
Israeli's want peace BUT ARABS KEEPS BLOWING UP in the Israeli territory! , so are you suggesting to just sit and look?? I DON'T THINK SO! No one would!
Moreover, Israel is smaller than it's own name on the map, and you can take a look of how tremendously huge the Arab countries surrounding it are....
Just look at the middle east on the map I'm sure you'll have a hard time finding Israel at all, and than you'll get it.
Have a good weekend :)

I support Israel. God gave that land to the Jewish people over 2000 years ago. In fact to Abraham. Over 2000 years ago.
The Palestinians, are a mixed bag of people from the other surrounding countries. Basically, they all have a country that their parents came from, or grandparents.
Israel has had to give up so much land or this Palestinian cause, I don't even think they had a right or claim to it in the first place.
To add to that, the more land they get, they more land they want. They are never satisfied.
They don't want Israel to exist. That is the bottom line.
