Firstly, this is in no way a question of the merits of the argument for global warming.
However, is not Live Earth the dumbest concept ever? The perfomers and hundreds of thousands of attendees created 74,500 tons of co2 according to Carbon Footprint(http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/07/07/AR2007070701201_pf.html). Also, wouldn't it have done a lot more good for the attendees to simply donate the $100 they paid for their ticket to an environmental organization of their choice? On that same path, I heard that over 2 billion people were expected to take part in Live Earth. Instead of creating 74,500 tons of co2 and wasting so many resources simply so they could have a feel good day, why didn't those 2 billion people each donate $10 to a conservation organization (imagine 20 BILLION dollars raised for global conservation on 1 day!)? This whole event was one big day for people to pat themselves on the back for while doing jack.

Seafood imports from China raised in untreated sewage
Fish products consumed by Americans treated with dangerous drugs, chemicals

WASHINGTON – China, the leading exporter of seafood to the U.S., is raising most of its fish products in water contaminated with raw sewage and compensating by using dangerous drugs and chemicals, many of which are banned by the Food and Drug Administration.

The stunning news follows WND's report last week that FDA inspectors report tainted food imports from China are being rejected with increasing frequency because they are filthy, are contaminated with pesticides and tainted with carcinogens, bacteria and banned drugs.

China has consistently topped the list of countries whose products were refused by the FDA – and that list includes many countries, including Mexico and Canada, who export far more food products to the U.S. than China.

They both hated the Kurds. Now Turkey is threatening to invade Northern Iraq. Should we just let them have it or should we go to war with Turkey?

Im a muslim, I was born and live in the UK, and say to the ''muslim'' terrorists, if you dont like it here f*#k off home, because the rest of us the decent law abiding muslims, non muslims, blacks, whites and asians want to live in peace, so take your extremist views back to the non democratic hell holes your trying to create here, and you will be alot happier and so will we.

The time for political correctness has gone out the window, because b*stards like this are tryng to ruin the peace and harmony that the majority want to live in.

Islam's basic teachings are peace and harmony, it says it is forbidden to cause harm to another living thing, and to ssave a life is like saving the whole of humanity, therefore the people who are commiting such atrocities have a very warped mind, much like a paedo, rapist, murderer, in their mind they are doing nothing wrong, their sick, and use this religion as a reason, but its not in the name of islam.

If Liberals really cared about the "innocent" people dyeing in Iraq why dont they get in a airplane and try to save them?

Does anyone think they are being hypocritical and perhaps just talking for the sake of complaining?

Is all talk and no action pathetic?

Whatever your view of the terrorist organisation Al Quaeda it must be said that they have a particular talent in finding and exploiting weaknesses within the UK in order to further their terrorist ambitions.

The latest example of this is the way they were able to get 'sleepers' into the country by exploiting the National Health Service's reliance on foreign trained doctors.

Can you think of any other weaknesses within the UK's social, economic or political systems which Al Qaeda can exploit in the future to further their aims?

"The Senate is due to debate in February the proposed introduction of tougher border controls, including building more fences along a third of the border with Mexico.
The House of Representatives has already passed the bill, which has been condemned by Mexico. "

So Mexico thinks it's okay for it's citizens to enter our country illegally? Wouldn't that be government supported entry into a neighboring nation without permission? Isn't that what invasion is?

Over ten years ago I was studying religions and reading a book on Christian beliefs that said when the antichrist comes he'll rule the world on an ecological agenda in his name and be hailed as a hero that everyone will turn to to follow. At the time it seemed unfeasable, but I see bizarre echoes in the Live Earth concerts with one announcer stating that Gore's the inspiration for the concerts and the reason we're all watching (I thought Earth was the reason!). Plus what is with the number 7? Is it because a concert on 6th June 06 would be too obvious? The date is 7.7.07 and everyone keeps mentioning 7 - i.e. the B.E.P. emphasised that they got an email reply from Gore "7 days later at 7'o'clock" and that we should all cheer after the band counts 7. There are 7 Gore 'pledges' and the final one is to pledge to "BUY from companies that support the 7 pledges" - it's SO obvious there's a commercial agenda behind Live Earth. More about this below...

Muslims march against terrorism. Soctland united against terror.
Members of Scottish Muslim groups and mosques are to gather in Glasgow's George Square later today for a rally against terrorism.
"The eyes of the world will be on Scotland sending out message that all our communities are united against terrorism."
Do you believe that muslims in Britain are sincere enough to be believed by the non muslim population when these acts of terrorism have been perpatrated in their name. Do you think its too little too late?

With the weather around the world going crazier by the moment. Is engineering the weather going to be the answer or an up coming problem? In the future are institutions like the G8 or the UN going to have to deal out regulations as to how the weather can be manipulated? And how far fetched is weather terrorism?

I had to go to Hull on business on Thursday. I felt so sorry for you guys after my experience there. The water had gone but because of the raw sewage that had come up the place STANK! and the pavements were covered with a film of filth. Furniture was in front gardens some of it new but it could not be used because of contamination. A barman in The English Gentleman pub near the theatre told me that there was looting as well. In spite of all this the people I spoke to were really nice friendly cheerful guys. I know this is not really a question but i just had to say something and to state that it is not just the flooding that has affected people. I read that some poor man had to give up his dog he had for 8 years as his temporary accomodation would not take it. Good luck and love to all of you
