What do you prefer to live in a city or country.

I live in the countryside. I moved from a city, but I find it very boring, no buses, no where to go, nearest shops are 5 miles away. I am thinking about moving back to a city.

I prefer the City.. we tried living on the outskirts of Glasgow - not really the countryside, but a good bit away from City Centre - and it caused alsorts of problems -we thought it would be a lot more healthier blah blah... but the travelling back and forward to work, school - entertainment venues..visiting relatives.. was too much - we couldnt adjust .plus it was costing us a fortune in petrol...we are looking for a new pad right in the heart of Glasgow just now.. down at the Clydeside.. We are City folk ....

I used to live in the city (Cardiff) and to be honest It seemed as if we were battling against everything - getting the kids into decent schools, not having a high school to go to (yes that's right no high school!!) parking the car, busy roads I could go on but anyway we moved to a rural area and I love it - Great schools with smaller classes, much quieter, the kids can play safely and the people are friendlier. I much prefer it and would never move back. I have to be honest though I don't think I could cope if I couldn't drive as the buses are few and far between and it's 5 miles to the nearest big town but it's the country side for me anyday.

I know I am not in the UK but I live in the country and I am about 10-15 from the city. The convenience of the city were nice but I prefer raising my kids in a more rural area and well I like the distance between me and my neighbors more so now then when we lived in the city and they were 20 ft away. If I were single with no kids I would live in the city.

I would prefer the countryside maybe its more peaceful than the noisy city, but every person is different so you should choose careful. For Example i moved to New York City but i dont like it although it has exciting things, its crowded and i want to move back to Georgia. Just give it some time.

I have lived in a city,a small rural village miles away from anything but now I am living in a village on the outskirts of a town.

I love the peacefulness of a village and I love the nightlife and never ending things to do in a city. So where I live now suits me as I am near both.

I live in Belfast a big city in Northern Ireland (NI). It is great to live in but at weekend and during the summer i love to escape to my uncle's caravan in the countryside beside the Irish sea. In NI, from Belfast, u only have to travel about 5-15mins and u r in the countryside so its pretty good. NI countryside is very pretty.

It depends because the Countryside is a peaceful amazing place but the City is lively for when you socialize.

moved from the city, built a fab four bedroom bung.... talked to the cows for weeks. stalked the postman, he was the only human for miles. bad thing to run out of toilet rolls, but plenty of grass so survived. my kids went potty and got depressed, in the end sold it for a third under my asking price, moved back to city, kids banging on the door every five mins, ah but that feels normal to me, the grass is never greener on the other side.....i would live in a tent if i was happy enough,,,,,,xx
