AP) In what has become an annual tradition of prognostications, religious broadcaster Pat Robertson said Tuesday God has told him that a terrorist attack on the United States would result in “mass killing” late in 2007.

“I'm not necessarily saying it's going to be nuclear,” he said during his news-and-talk television show “The 700 Club” on the Christian Broadcasting Network. “The Lord didn't say nuclear. But I do believe it will be something like that.”

Robertson said God told him during a recent prayer retreat that major cities and possibly millions of people will be affected by the attack, which should take place sometime after September.

Robertson said God also told him that the U.S. only feigns friendship with Israel and that U.S. policies are pushing Israel toward “national suicide.”

Robertson suggested in January 2006 that God punished then-Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon with a stroke for ceding Israeli-controlled land to the Palestinians.

The broadcaster predicted in January 2004 that President Bush would easily win re-election. Bush won 51 percent of the vote that fall, beating Democratic Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts.

In 2005, Robertson predicted that Bush would have victory after victory in his second term. He said Social Security reform proposals would be approved and Bush would nominate conservative judges to federal courts.

Lawmakers confirmed Bush's 2005 nominations of John Roberts and Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. But the president's Social Security initiative was stalled.

“I have a relatively good track record,” he said. “Sometimes I miss.”

In May, Robertson said God told him that storms and possibly a tsunami were to crash into America's coastline in 2006. Even though the U.S. was not hit with a tsunami, Robertson on Tuesday cited last spring's heavy rains and flooding in New England as partly fulfilling the prediction.

yet, they fail to mention the fact that the most infamous conflict the U.S. was ever involved in-Vietnam-was initiated by John F. Kennedy and perpetuated by Lyndon Johnson, who both happened to be Democrats? Isn't it funny how liberals try to claim Gerald Ford lost the Vietnam conflict, but it was the Democrat controlled congress that ultimately cut the funding for the war, forcing us to pull out?

Oh, and please spare me the rhetoric about the Monroe Doctrine and fighting communists versus terrorists.

Isn't it also funny how the liberals keep bringing up the loss of 3000 troops when by this timeframe in Vietnam, the number of deaths was considerably higher?

I know he was a bad man and did terrible things and I think he should have been executed, But the people who execuited him where tauting him in the seconds before his death. People where allowed to film it on their cell phones. The executioners where chanting political statements supporting a local terrorist master mind. There was total caos surounding his execution, they rushed it and carried it out only 4 days after his appeal. I know he did a lot of bad things but 2 wrongs don't make a right.

Why isn't there more coverage on the news regarding this very real issue? A 41 sq. mile ice shelf broke off in Canada last week in 1 hour (cnn.com). Why aren't we doing more to halt the process of destroying our planet? If we want to continue the human race, we should all take responsibility for facing this harsh reality . . .what is up? Is it just too scary or overwhelming to do something about it?

I've just watched the full execution video, from the mobile phone footage, and I - for some bizarre reason - feel sorry for the poor guy.

I'm not saying what he did wasn't wrong - it was terrible, and he had to be punished for it, but is hanging someone in 2007 really the right message to send people?

Surely a life sentence would have been acceptable????

Also, does anyone want to discuss the possibility of the Saddam video being a FAKE???? (Why did the phone camera suddenly turn away, the moment "Saddam" dropped through the trapdoor?)

I saw the whole video of the execution, and after he is hanged they show his face, on the ground, and all these people are taking pictures of him, so his face is lightened by the flashes...and I know his eyes are meant to be open, also his mouth, because he was talking, but I could swear he was agonizing...cause I saw like his mouth moved a little...

If you saw the video, what do you think? Did he die instantly or did it took a little for him to die?
