I don't know if they took him too far, but he probably traveled more in the last few days than he ever did in twice the time before.
None of us knew that he was such a great person until he was dead. Now he's known as the great healer, or should it be heeler ? He heeled to Nixons orders.
A Latin proverb. De mortuis nihil nisi bonum. About the dead say nothing but good.
And a very Happy New Year to you.

Maybe, but then a former president of the United States does die everyday, so we can't just ignore it either.

If he hadn't pardoned Nixon he'd have probably gone down in history as a greater president, and not as a goof, but he was still presidential.

For a president that was never elected it has gone too far. With the post office closed Monday and Tuesday they are going to pay a fortune in overtime today.

yes...its very strange but when ford was president the media ridiculed him and made him out to be a bumbling fool. they hated him and made fun of him and called him nixon's puppet and now they call him a 'uniting president' and a great man...the only reason they like him now is because he disagrees with bush on the war and we all know bush is the media's favorite target, no matter what he does they skewer him.

JEEZ!!!
Just how many funerals can a person have?
Don't you think he'd begin to stink after all this time?
(I mean...even with modern embalming techniques he would still have to have been pretty ripe!)
Besides, he only got to be president because Nixon was such a low life!

No, it's a rare occasion and there are a lot of constituencies who want to pay homage to the former president.
