what would be the first thing you'd do?

I'd start searching frantically.
Of course the horrible, terrible thought of an abduction would enter my mind & i'd contact the Police authorities as well but in the first panic & shock, i'd be on my knees searching under the bed & behind the doors & in all the little nooks & crannies that babies love to creep into.

Wasn't there a scare in Australia weeks ago where there were helicopters searching for a missing little boy who had crept & fallen soundly asleep under his bed?

Leaving babies unattended is wrong.
We know that & the McCanns & their friends know it now.
Don't you think that
whether they ate together in a restaurant OR
whether they ate apart from the rest of the other diners OR
whether they downed 15-30 bottles of wine or water OR
whether they ordered fish or crab OR
whether they were rude or polite to the stewards

is totally irrelevant to Madeleine going missing???

If we have to discuss hearsay from the media & can't stick to facts,
at least, can we please stick to what is relevant to the case?

How on earth do insinuations about the McCanns & friends' arrogance
have anything to do with Madeleine???

Surely there are arrogant folk around who take good care of their babies?
Surely there are humble folk around who don't?
Generalisations like this are weak, petty & only point to prejudice...not reason.

There are still many who seem to believe that Kate, Gerry and the rest of the 'Tapas 9' only neglected their children and left them on their own that one night on 3rd May.

We read however that 'The couple and their friends all left their children in their apartments at exactly the same time for the last four nights of their holiday, according to the new witness' A staff member at the resort where the nine-strong group enjoyed two or three-hour meals - typically washed down with eight to ten bottles of wine a night - said the nightly routine was 'set in stone'. He said the group made a 'special arrangement' to book the same table at 8pm every night He told how the arrangement was widely known about by workers at the restaurant, who thought it was strange that other holiday-makers had to queue for reservations at the popular tapas bar.

Are you still under the llusion that the McCanns and their friends neglect was a one off ?

When firms in Mexico cause pollution that crosses the border, U.S. residents along the border are damaged. That pollution is an external cost, since the US residents have no way to extract payment for damage from the Mexican polluters. What policies should the US pursue to reduce this pollution?

I need a good topic for my informative speech in a few weeks. I've been watching the darfur crisis for a few years and it's starting to get more attention in the news. But the topic for the speech has to be controversial and I don't know exactly how I can turn it into a controversial topic. So I'm just looking for some suggestions!!!!

Specifically, why do reporters stretch the truth so far in order to influence public opinion? I am aware that in this country there is "no news like bad news", but I am looking deeper than that for reasoning.

I may be a little rude, but we are in the year 2007 where we dreamed of the future back in the 1980. So why cant we figure out a better way to combat fire over the top of surfaces. Can we stop investing on computers and plasma tvs for a year....
