what would be the first thing you'd do?

I'd start searching frantically.
Of course the horrible, terrible thought of an abduction would enter my mind & i'd contact the Police authorities as well but in the first panic & shock, i'd be on my knees searching under the bed & behind the doors & in all the little nooks & crannies that babies love to creep into.

Wasn't there a scare in Australia weeks ago where there were helicopters searching for a missing little boy who had crept & fallen soundly asleep under his bed?

My daughter is a sleep walker, I found her in the kitchen last night and when she first started doing it we found her outside the front door!! In her nightie, she was only 6!! The morning after we saw her sleep walking we put locks on the front and back and garage doors (so now you need keys to open them,) Now if she is not in her bed I can breathe easy she will be in the house somewhere. She is 12 now and still with me, still safe.

I'd check if my husband had the baby, feeding it or sth. Then I'd search under the bed, in the closet, in the washing machine and in all of my cats' hiding places. If I didn't find it, then I'd panic, but I am quite sure it is impossible for someone to come in my house while I am sleeping and take my baby without me finding out, because a. I don't have a baby(lol), b. I sleep very light.

Well you say baby....if my baby was still in a crib and couldnt walk yet I would call the police immediately. If it was a baby who was walking and could climb out of the crib I would quickly do a search of the house which would take less then a few minutes with the help of the remainder of the family members then call the police.

I would try not to panic and search the entire house if my baby was no where to be found then i would call the police and search the surrounding areas around my house Intel they got there. I would also be calling all friends and family to help.

My heart is in my mouth if I go into my sons room and he is sleeping on his big teddy rather than his bed so I dread to think how I would feel.

I would be hysterical, I'd be on the phone to the police as soon as possible and I'd be on my hands and knees searching until I found him.

I will panic and be hysterical. I have to be honest, I think I would not think about phoning the police at that moment. I would be to busy turning the entire neighborhood upside down.

Absolutely a parent's worse nightmare!
I check my boys every time I wake up and we always make sure their windows are locked.

And I would NEVER leave them unattended in a house or hotel - even if I was just across the road.

I saw last night on the news that a mother walked in on a man who was in her 5 year old daughters bedroom!
She managed to fight him off! THANK GOD!
I hope they catch him!!! SOON!!
Apparently he was armed with plastic pvc pipe filled with lead!
