Yes, its hard to get a room at Christmas. Especially when there was a census being held, seems a strange time to hold a census doesn't it?

Of course we don't really know what time of year the first Christmas was. Probably not in December or the shepherds wouldn't be in the fields watching the flocks.

There was a Stag Party visiting the local Strip Club in town that night, and all the hotel rooms were booked by them.

There was a census at the time, everyone was suppose to be at their home towns for the tax purposes. The roads were filled with travelers for this reason and the inns were full.

anyway everyone was there for the census & I for one would rather give birth in a barn with insulating hay then some dingy street alley
