The colleges have been closed, but not technically evacuated. They don't want the students to breathe in smoke. I am a college student in San Diego and they sent us home in the middle of class. I don't think any of the colleges are in the line of fire though, if that's what you're asking.

Get information at:

Or, for additional fire information, residents may also call the City of San Diego Community Access Phone System at (619) 570-1070.

All that I know is that CSU San Marcos was evacuated; USD was closed and SDSU will close tomorrow.

UCSD is in La Jolla, well away from the fires and yes, it is closed.

I'm going to say that most universities are closed until the mid-week.

No, its right next to the ocean, so if it did burn, it would probably be the last place in San Diego.

La Jolla had problems of its own with a sink hole or something. Don't have details cause new is all focused on fires.

Not that I have heard, but it changes so fast. Keep checking the internet. If you're concerned about friends or family, I am truly sorry. Good luck.
