Not expected to slow down until the Santa Ana (peonounced "Sant Ana" except by Okies) Winds die down. Predicted for Thursday next.
The Governator made a trip to Malibu where he owns six houses. That's not where the worst trouble is, but he expects donations from his fellow entertainment foks there.

They're really bad. Some are looking like they are making process. Santiago Canyon is 30% contained. But the 2 fires near Arrowhead are 0% contained and hundred of homes have already been lost.
Even parts not in dangert of burning are suffering. Basically all of Southern California is under a cloud of smoke. You can smell it everywhere. It's painful to breathe. In many places, it's raining ash. We are just staying indoors.
Take a look at this photo:

And that photo doesn't include San Diego County!

They're BAD !!! If you haven't noticed yet, we have more than a dozen wildfires throughout SoCal. The wind isn't making it any better, infact, I can't even open my window without smelling the fire. I live about 15 - 20 mins. away from the Santiago Fire, one of the fires here, and I feel the effects of that fire and the other surrounding fires. They're not slowing down because the weather isn't going to get any better until the weekend, and they're pretty large too.

I don't live in California anymore, but I heard they are real bad. They will not stop until the winds start slowing down. From what I heard, one person has died. There are 13 fires going on. I think they said there were like 400+ fire fighters fighting the fires from different counties. Some also came from Colorado too.

There are currently over 12 fires burning in Southern California.
I can smell smoke from my dorm and my car is covered in ash, and I'm currently in La Verne. So they are pretty bad!! The air quality is TERRIBLE. None of the fires are more than 30% contained. We are also short firefighters.
My house is in Ontario, and there are two fires currently burning there. The wind there is BAD. I spent the night last night over there and the winds ranged from 30-60 mph. This caused trucks to flip on the freeway.
So pretty much, we're screwed until winds calm down.

Conditions are looking better. The humiditiy is up, the Santa Anas are gone. We have the best firefighters anyone can ask for. The military finally were able to get their planes and copters in the air to help. I think maybe Bush being here yesterday got that going. Calfire did not want to put the military up there with their contractors because the contractors did not want to share airspace with the military. It seems politics always has to cause delays.

I live in San Diego and I've heard that there are 8 fires burning in the county. One of them has been contained, but the worst one is the Witch Creek Fire. 250,000 people have been evacuated total, one person has died, about a dozen hurt, maybe 20,000 acres burnt. I live in the city though si i'm not in danger for now. I don't think this is the worst fire we've ever had here. The Cedar fire of 2003 was worse.

The fires are the worst that San Diego has seen, there are currently a dozen fires, but the one in Ramona area (called witch fire) is the worst. No, the big ones are not slowing down, but the one in San Marcos is already 100% contained. Btw, the wind is going Southwest, so that mean that the fires are also goin in that same dirrection.

I've lived here for more than 50 years and they are as bad or worse than anything i or my parents, both still with me, can remember, but not unexpected really. We've had no rain to speak of in years. Combine that with current weather conditions and you have a tinderbox just waiting for a match. Everywhere. I see no signs of anything slowing down tonight, the winds are still high and there is still plenty of fuel.

I'm in califonria and even though I am not near the fires, our skys are black and smokey. Our schools are closed because of bad air quality. There are about 13 fires going right now and they are just way out of control. Freeways are closing down and everything. You basically have to stay put where I am.
