I don't need a detailed list of events. i am trying to read up on all the events going on there (school assignment) and i just need a simple one sentence answer like israel is blahblahblah on the palestinians. that's all! i just need to have an understanding of what i'm reading, because right now it makes no sense and i have no idea what's going on! please help! and thanks for reading this guys! :]

I have to write an essay about people today that face a similar predicament as that of the Joad family in The Grapes of Wrath.

However, I can't find any! I was wondering if anyone here could help me out.

The question reads:

find three articles from the newspaper or news magazine that have problems similar to those faced by the Joad family in the 1930s. type a three paragraph essay on each comparing/contrasting the issue. In addition, a test will be given during the first week of class.

ok, you got a 5 gillion dollar defense system, and you decide to switch it off for five minutes, in the same space of time 9/11 occurs, and then you switch it back on again,

a couple of months later, everyone in that dvision gets promoted, i don't know if this is standard american protocol, but normally when people screw things up like this they generally get sacked,

why do you guys reckon they got promoted, and why do you reckon they switched it off in the first place?

Who or what prevented concerned citizens from bringing
private boats to rescue people and pets ? The Governor ?
The Mayor ? Criminals ? FEMA? National Guard ?
Note in all other flooding situations, boats are immediately
plying the stricken areas. In Katrina, helicoptors were
rescuing people days after the event. Where were the boats ?

This is for the likes of Scarymary, Sam J and Sam C, not ALL pro McCann people though you may answer if you wish to do so.

Why are you all so bothered about the McCann questions and answers?
I can understand if it's abusive or just plain sick but most of the reasonable questions and answers get deleted too.
What is it that drives you to cut and paste answers or abuse people for having an opinion?

In this survey, all they needed is some statistician to perform power analysis and sample size estimation. this is a long one.
my mother works in a paint factory.two years ago they brought the smoking ban in and provided a smoking shelter.my mother asked if she could smoke in her car in the company car park and was told no.she has to clock out to go to the smoking shelter. which is situated in the carpark .so she asked if she could leave her car outside company property and smoke in there, she was told no because she cant leave the property in her 15 min break because she gets paid for it . every thing was fine until they took two sides of the shelter down yesterday due to legislation. she is dreading winter coming as it will be freezing in the ''shelter'' can she legally ask not to be paid for her breaks so that she can leave the site to smoke out in her car?
