They may close for the holidays, they may close in the event of a natural disaster. I used to work in a hotel, and we would lock the doors at night for safety reasons. There are all sorts of things that can occur that would necessitate the closing of a store that is normally open 24/7.

Farcry isn't to off the mark actually. They magic handbook says that encase of emergency IE... riots, hurricanes, floods, robbery (seems a bit late to me on that one), fear of eminent danger that the doors may be locked at such times.
