I will never forget the sick feeling I felt on that day watching/hearing 9/11 unfold. I had just dropped my daughter off with the sitter and I was on my way to NC for a job interveiw; I heard someone say on the radio ,"this is an act of terrorism, when I got home, I saw the buildings collapse. As americans, we all were affected- God bless all that have lost loved ones on that dreadful day.

I know Americans everywhere are reliving & remembering the events of 9/11/2001, but the sight of the flags lowered to half-staff really hit me this morning; the physical symbol of our Nations' grief drives it home more than anything I've seen on television to this point. If anyone else wishes to share their views with me on this subject, I would like to hear how you feel. Thank you . . .

I have not actually seen this movie, but I wonder whether it seems tasteless to those who lost loved ones in this disaster. I know they advertise it as a survival story, but it still brings to mind the fact that many didn't survive!
I thought the same thing about the "Titanic", even though it was longer ago.

How many more years is there going to be alll day coverage of the 911 anniversy? It was a tragic thing that happened but many other people have been killed in other events and we don't spend every years anniversy observing their deaths. These people where like anyone else, they just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and none of them are heroes as they were at work or as the rescuers were doing, just doing there job, firefighters are hired to fight fires and rescue people. It is just as tragic when one individual is killed but it isn't deemed as important as when thousands get killed, but to the family it is just as much of a loss. Isn't it time to move on and focus on the living?

On September 11, 2001?

That was the day I went back to work from maternity leave with my daughter... What a welcome back to work. I worked in a nursing home and we had to go into lock down and do our disaster preparedness procedures, needless to say my first day back was hectic! The residents were scared because they knew we were doing the disaster procedures, but could not understand why..

I remember it so vividly. In the beginning. Soon after the start of the war in Iraq,.
"We are NOT an occupying force," came cries of denial from Donald Rumsfeld, and the Generals, and the President....
Denials. Denials.
But I think I already knew differently. When US troops stormed into Downtown Baghdad,, and I saw that clip..of a U.S. soldier, hoisting a United States flag......
Oh it was soon taken down. But the image was still there. It was such a humm, BOLD and disturbing move.
Then came Colin Powell, after weeks of denial also, letting it slip that we were "occupying" Iraq.
And then Bush.,denying, denying. Continuous assurances that we were there "to bring freedom and democracy" to the Iraqi people.
But finally relenting.
"Yes, we are occupying."
When will we learn....
or no...
its more that our government has to stop lying to us. I thnk, even as we might not like what they do, that if they do it and not lie about it, this government would be far more respected.

Isn't it a bit odd that Osama can deliver a new video to the news yet nobody can "follow the tracks" to find the person that delivered it?

"......Please give our collective loss and pain meaning beyond hate and vengeance. Hate breeds nothing but more hate. Hate is why we are no longer here to be with our loved ones. Please remember
that we are all brothers and sisters on this earth. Life is precious, short, and priceless. Hate does nothing but destroy. Hate begets hate. War begets war. Reach out and hug your loved ones, be it a
friend, sister, brother, father, mother, son, daugher, or grandparent. Remember, our last words were of love, not hate or
vengeance......"tell Mommy I always loved both of you with all of
my heart, never forget that"......."Honey, I'm so glad we met. Thank
you for all the love and time we shared."......"John, when you get this message, remember, you gave me the best and happiest
years of my life" Do try to understand those that would hate you.
Let the strongest and wisest among us build a bridge of love and
common humanity that nothing can tear asunder. Only then can
we live in peace...."
