Yes, you're right. There should be equal attention and respect paid to ALL victims of September 11, 2001.
The number of victims is growing each day too...responders are becoming ill from the dust thrown up in the Twin Towers collapse. Sad.

No, I dont think they are forgotten. It is just that most of the people who were killed were in the towers. It must have been equally if not more terrifying for those on board those planes. I cannot even begin to feel how any of the victims felt on that day. I always think of the people on the flight that fought back and the others too. How brave they were...

I think because the twin towers killed alot of people and the way it was done(killing people not only in the towers but also in the planes and on the ground) that its emphasised more because its right in your eye's and really hits home as how vunerable we acutally are.
This shouldnt take anything away from anyone esle and we should all remember everyone that was effected by this terrible act.
The plane that crashed into the field was just as terrible as the planes that hit the twin towers and those people fought to over power the terrorists and help themselves by taking command of the plane but unfortuntely their plans and efforts were just too late.
I can never understand terrorists and their acts of martreism, they are hell bend on killing people(no matter who they are because lets face it,terrorists do not care who they kill/mame).
We always say 'alot of lessons need to be learnt from this' yet we never learn.
On this day,we must all unite to stop and eradicate terrorism and stand up for our rights as citizens of our own countries.
Terrorists cannot and must not win,if they do,we maybe forced to live in societies that we only read about in third world countries.
God bless everyone who lost their lives in 9/11 and long may their memories live.

You might be right here,.....I have been watching all the stuff on telly about the twin towers the past few days and yes there is hardly any mention of the other 2 planes that were hijacked...I wasn't even aware until last night watching the History channel that there was 4 planes.......

Yep - I understand what you think. Because there is so much footage of the towers & they were totally destroyed people do tend to focus upon them.
People automatically think of iconic images eg if you were to say 'London terror attacks' I'm sure the image that springs to mind of what was left of the red double decker bus
1 - Its a powerful image
2 - other pictures, say of the tube were unavailable
However, I do believe that people DO remember the attack on the Pentagon and those brave people on flight 93.

In my opinion the attack was deserved and brought on by americas disgusting foreign policies. The twin towers however was a misguided target. Full of innocent people and therefore a tragedy and i feel for the victims families.
There are no innocents in the pentagon or the whitehouse and both targets were legitimate, for they house the real enemy of freedom and justice for the rest of the world...not just arabs.

So so true!
I was thinking about that, they are just as 'equal' victims as anyone else, if you think about it. Actually, those who crashed in the field in Pennsylvania are really heroes, to sacrifice their own lives before those in Washington.
I think it is just because the twin towers were so dramatic with the collapse and also because it was so high and everything.

I don't think they are an afterthought. More devastation occurred at the World Trade Center, so this is what people focus on.

I do agree with you. The Pentagon is hardly ever talked about. They did do a film on Flight 93. I want to see it but my husband refuses to watch it with me.
