On September 11, 2001?

That was the day I went back to work from maternity leave with my daughter... What a welcome back to work. I worked in a nursing home and we had to go into lock down and do our disaster preparedness procedures, needless to say my first day back was hectic! The residents were scared because they knew we were doing the disaster procedures, but could not understand why..

I was in a train on my way to work in Hoboken, New Jersey, which is right across the Hudson River from lower Manhattan, when the first plane hit. When the train got to the station, I went to this waterfront park and was just standing there in shock with everyone else. By then both planes had hit. I walked to my job, at a college with an amazing view of New York City. A coworker and I were standing looking at the buidlings when the first tower collapsed. It was such a crystal clear day, you could see the glass pop out of the windows before it began to fall. We just hugged each other and cried. A huge cloud of dust began to spread out and obliterate lower Manhattan, coming towards us. It was then that we all realized we might not be safe. When the second tower fell, I just joined the mass exodus back to the train station, everyone was in shock, hoping the trains were still running so we could get home. It was the most horrifying day of my life and last night I was watching that documentary shot by those French brothers and just broke into tears. Being an eyewitness is something I have mixed feelings about....it was terrible to see but I know that I'll never forget the human tragedy caused by those terrorist attacks. God bless the victims and their families.

I was on my way to o work with my mom when the first plane hit the towers. Once we got to work we found out about the second tower and the Pentagon. All of the girls in the office sat around watching the TV in between phone calls, doing oUr best to keep our composure. A few days later me and my family took a little weekend getaway to a popular tourist attraction in our state to get ur minds off of the events that had happened. It was beautiful to see all the American flags everywhere, "God Bless America" everywhere. I don't remember another time when complete strangers were so full of compassion. I was and still am proud to live in such a great country. My heart felt sympathies go out to all of those who suffered from the attack on Sept. 11,2001.

i was on the opposite side of the globe, in Malaysia, when it all happened. it was already night time around 9pm or so on sept. 11 2001 when the news flash came in, interupting prime time TV shows.

the events were a vivid memory to me personally as my dad had passed away a few days earlier on sept. 8, and we were having prayers read in his memory on that particular night, with family and guests filling our house. the shock of seing the WTC towers hit was just incredible.

the first thought was maybe that was an odd accident. images of the 2nd hit came in to convey the horrifying truth - they were planned attacks. people were generally in shock here too i guess.. even when anti-american sentiments do exist in some degree for all the oppressions in the mid east and israel. nobody would have dreamed of such a brilliantly orchestrated attack. it was horrible, but it was, and still is, the most incredible act of jihad terror anyone had ever seen. the message was loud n clear to the USA. "they'd ask for it..." some kids were saying. "now they know what those vietnamese or iraqis or palestinians may have felt getting blown up.. " an old politician said.

In Wal-mart buying school supplies (lunch pail, indoor shoes, etc) for my daughter who was starting kindergarten the next day. Nobody knew much of anything in the store, so I paid for my stuff (I was the ONLY one buying anything and a cashier seemed very disgruntled to have been torn away from the electronics section where the TVs were - not that I blame her for one second) and I went out to the parking lot, hopped in my car and turned on the radio. The very first thing I heard was the broadcaster, a woman, saying, "All hell has broken loose in the United States..."

I was at work and we heard that something had happened we all gather around the TV and could not believe what we were seeing. And then I tired to call my mother-in-law she lived 1 mile or so from the Pentagon and I got no answer and that was right after the bomobing of the Pentagon I was pretty scared at that point. It was a very sad day for all of us.

I was in the shower when I found out! A work associate contacted my work group on our direct connect radios. He just said "If you don't know what's going on, get to a TV NOW!" I ran out of the shower, and dripping wet, turned on the TV, and couldn't believe what I was seeing! We had vacationed in New York just 2 months earlier visiting my brother in law. Slipping and sliding on the wet floor, I went and woke up my wife, and then called my boss for instructions. Since at that point there were rumors of a suspect plane heading for Los Angeles, we were instructed to stay out of LA. I had to make positive contact with all 10 members of my work group and instruct them to stay out of LA. Fortunately there was no problem, but what a day!

LOL But unfortunately he wasn't.......Its a day we will never forget, and we never should. God bless all the people hurt in anyway during this terrostist attack, and God have mercy on the idiots who planned this.

I was at my old job mowing the grass at a Liberal Arts College. One of the guys told me a plane hit the WTC. I went back to the shop and we spent most of the day quietly watching it on our T.V.
