I am in a quiet reflective mood today. 911 was one of the greatest tragedies of modern times, albeit not the only one though. Each year when the anniversary arrives I remember the shock I felt that day. The certain knowledge that the world had changed. The best description is a sense of innocence lost. This has been combined with the loss of someone very close to me two years ago on 911, after a losing battle with cancer. Don't misunderstand, I am not unhappy, just reverent. I think alot about what the surviving families must be thinking, and hope that we are properly honoring the memories of our fallen comrades.

It makes me very depressed actually. Our family had a close call where the Pentagon was concerned. Even though it's been 5 years, it's still so hard to imagine, or believe, but we all know the reality. I also believe that it will happen again here in our country. I'm not racist, but when I go out in public, I always feel like a target when I see someone of that descent. I don't mean to be that way, it just comes naturally. I hate myself for feelng this way, but I know what happened, I'm just more aware . It's not a good feeling and I'm not proud of it.

I'm from England and though not directly connected to the 9/11 tragedy I watched the whole horrific episode developing on Sky News and today I feel numb, numb that other human beings could do such attrocaties to other human beings.

Anxious, sad, full of pain,I was among the ones whom were flying that day,and it impacted me more then I understood at the time.I feel the same fear today as I did back then, the same terror.Sometimes I try to disconnect myself from these feelings and become numb, but the numbness is worse then feeling.I feel so bad for the lives lost, the tragedy and the terror. No one will ever forget 9/11.

Its an extremely sad and upsetting day for our American brothers and sisters. I feel very sad and slightly depressed that people were murdered in such a way. I'm in the UK and don't know anyone in the US, but still can't beileve the evil that happened that day. We all cried in our house for everyone involved.

God bless America and my deepest condolences to everyone who lost someone. We all pray in England that large scale murder, like 9/11 will never happen again.

I am feeling somber and sad. I also feel afraid that this will dominate everything and change the debates in our halls of governement and cause them once again to be based on emotion rather than rationality. We have some very important issues related to fighting the terrorists to debate and the process has already changed with regad to particualr proposals to avoid oversight.

A bit of depression to be honest. Is this what our grandparents felt on memorial day 50 years ago?
