I know Americans everywhere are reliving & remembering the events of 9/11/2001, but the sight of the flags lowered to half-staff really hit me this morning; the physical symbol of our Nations' grief drives it home more than anything I've seen on television to this point. If anyone else wishes to share their views with me on this subject, I would like to hear how you feel. Thank you . . .

According to the amount of remarks on here about 9/11/01, I'm not the only one who has it on their mind. I'm sure a lot of us are remembering today. Some of us are even struggling to come to terms with it, still. I really don't think it's something you "just get over", so those remarks are pointless - but opinions are like bellybuttons; everybody has one.

I'm sick of people saying get over it, there is no way I will get the image out of my head. Planes flying into buildings , people jumping to their death, the screams and crying is not easily forgotten. The flags at half mass is comforting, it shows how many of us well NEVER FORGET.

as a rule, it truly is because maximum international places have rules which restrict flags from being flown or displayed at nighttime, except the flag is illuminated or lit up. in the different case, that's an previous custom in maximum international places. Hoisting contained in the morning is a demonstration of means, and lowering is a demonstration of appreciate and dignity for the flag and for united states it represents. contained in the U. S., the flag is continuously raised immediately and diminished slowly. If a flag is going to be flown at 1/2 crew, then that's raised to the authentic of the pole, and then intently diminished till that's contained in the halfway position. an analogous ingredient is authentic for a flag being flown at 1/2 MAST on a deliver. NO US flag is ever flown the different way up, except in circumstances of conflict or severe nationwide misery or emergency. between the most heartbreaking ideas I have of the 9/11 tragedy is the reminiscence of the sight of our nationwide flag contained in the the different way up position. i wish I in no way might want to make certain this kind of tragic sight back everywhere. That answer your question?

It is indeed a sad reminder of those horrid events. The world will never be the same again. The worst part is there seems to be no end to all this. Terror is growing geometrically by the year. I do not know if my generation will ever see peaceful times as earlier. I do not blame DBR for it. All those at the helm should put their heads together and find ways to end this menace. One thing is amply clear. It can not be controlled by force alone. It can be a via-media between force and reconciliation or some such solution.

It still gets to most of us, 5 years later and more years to come. It felt like yesterday. I'm hearing helicopters go by (I'm in Brooklyn, NY) and it is bringing back every detail of what happened that day. I'm watching the live coverage and the reading of the names. I still can't believe it.
May they all rest in peace.

It's really really sad even if I'm not an American. No offense...but maybe Spaghetti MY or xlhrider you don't know how it is...but let's just put you in that situation....imagine how it would be if your sister or brother or one of your parents or friends had died 5years ago i don't think you would write "just move on"...because you can't move on...so please show a little respect for the people who died there!! May all of them rest in peace!!!
