Not a personal milestone, but some national or world event - something many of us would recognize.

I ask because I realize there are people of all ages on here, and some of you don't remember some things I take for granted. Really, if someone is 13 or 14 they might not really have a clear memory of September 11 - or at least not the same memories I have. (I'm in my 40s.) The Clinton impeachment and the Y2K scare are not memories for some, just historical events - like, say, the Cuban Missile Crisis is for me.

So, what do you remember?

For an old fart like me, I remember my parents taking me to see the train carrying Robert F. Kennedy's body in June 1968. I remember there was a presidential election that year. I also remember watching the moon flight (Apollo 11) in 1969. It was exciting because no one knew for sure whether they would succeed!

So, what's your memory?

I don't know HOW I will pick a best answer for this one, but I'll try!

I think John Mark Karr looks totaly guilty. He looks pshycho, they have his conversations recorded and emails of the crime. Why isn't that enough proof?? Their better be justice in this crime. Who else is to protect us and give the justice that is deserved? I feel there wasn't sufficient justice in this case. If the parents did it they are going to pay for their crime, if not from the people in badges from the man upstairs. All crimes are punished.

several yrs ago there was a man in the US who kidnapped several females over a 20 year period & kept them in a under ground bunker at his home, he had them write daily diaries, he let each of them go after a period of time, he made them send letters to their families so no one would look for them. what was his name?

Ever seen a protest in person and then watched the coverage on the news later?

How about other examples where the media either covered something totally fairly or with complete bias?

Any idiot could have told you a category 5 hurricane would be the end of New Orleans. We knew what would happen, they knew what would happen, and only idiots and stubborn old people could have possibly been killed by it. It did some damage. Big Deal! So do potholes but we don't have to hear about them every day. I guess I should just quit reading the news.

The whole civilized world knows what John Karr looks like, we've seen videos, we know his bio.

The threat that turned this world on its ear once again making gel products a terrorist threat and the people who suppposedly had big plans concerning items like these has disappeared from the news and in fact this Answers website.

Where are their pictures? Where's the video? Where are the lawyers? Where are the in-depth biographies?

The last question posted here (i searched) was over 3 weeks ago.

Is the CIA in charge of our journalists? Was this entire terrorist threat manufactured?

We only care about John Karr because the media has followed him like a pack of wolves.

Does the media not care, or do they know this 'terrorist plot' was a complete fabrication?

I am outraged!

What are your thoughts about everything that is going on in New Orleans? The development that is not taking place or should I say the slow pace that things are happening. The racism that is being talked about. The celebration of Mardi Gras. The comment that Barbara Bush made while visiting the Astrodome "So Many Of The People In The Arena... Were Underprivileged Anyway, So This Is Working Very Well For Them"...
What are your thought over all on everything going on?

A posted by 006 to to my Q : "Rebuilding there is insane (as defined by einstein). Another hurricane will come along eventually & wipe it out again. They were predicting it for decades before it actually happened. Think it won't happen again? No matter how much they build up the levees, a direct hit by a category five hurricane will swamp New Orleans. That's what happens when you live below the water line.

The government should be providing incentives to get people out of there, instead of funding to get them to move back into harm's way."

The Q I asked was this: "Is it altruism if the US gov't helps victims of Katrina back on their feet by restoring the needed public infrastructure of the towns, cities ,counties, & parishes of LA, MS & AL? The people whose lives were impacted by Katrina & Rita & who were forced to leave their homes & businesses, want to go home but many can't until the gov't commits to & begins the effort to restore in earnest the public services necessary..."
