Not a personal milestone, but some national or world event - something many of us would recognize.

I ask because I realize there are people of all ages on here, and some of you don't remember some things I take for granted. Really, if someone is 13 or 14 they might not really have a clear memory of September 11 - or at least not the same memories I have. (I'm in my 40s.) The Clinton impeachment and the Y2K scare are not memories for some, just historical events - like, say, the Cuban Missile Crisis is for me.

So, what do you remember?

For an old fart like me, I remember my parents taking me to see the train carrying Robert F. Kennedy's body in June 1968. I remember there was a presidential election that year. I also remember watching the moon flight (Apollo 11) in 1969. It was exciting because no one knew for sure whether they would succeed!

So, what's your memory?

I don't know HOW I will pick a best answer for this one, but I'll try!

I vaguely remember Princess Diana's death - I was 5 years old at that time. I just remember my parents talking about it.

9/11 would definitely be the first one that I remember in great detail - I was 9 years old by then, plus my family and I lived about a half hour from the Pentagon, so I clearly remember that day at school and how everyone was so panicked. And I very clearly remember the moment I saw everything on the news.
