See, here is how it breaks down. Blood Type 'O+' (pronounced Oh positive) is the most popular (about 38.4% of the population has it). The thing is that 'O-' can be used for a blood transfusion for ALL the blood types, makes it the most valuable.
Blood type 'AB-' is the most rare, at about 0.7% of the population.

I know the rarest type is AB positive. I believe O negative is the most prevalent type, though I'm not sure. I do know for blood transfusions O negative is the most versatile (it can go into practically anyone) while type AB positive is the least versatile (but the best one to go with for someone who is AB positive).

type O is the world's most common blood type.
rare types are AB, or any blood type that has an Rh negative (most people are RH positive)
