My grandma wants to put flowers on and aroud her patio, but there is a problem with chipmunks. They sit in the flower boxes, and munch on whatever flowers or plants she has out there.Does anybody know of any plants or flowers that they won't eat?
If somebody knows of something she can do to keep them away, that would be great too.She doesn't want to hurt them, she just wants them to not eat her flowers.

I'm planning to use container gardening to grow tomatoes this summer. Do they have to be outside at a certain point to be pollinated? Or can I keep them inside in a sunny spot and have them grow fine?

I saw a few mice or rats in my backyard. I'm not an expert, so I don't know exactly what it was, but it looked about 7-8 inches long. I want to get rid of them, and I don't care if my ways are humane or not. I'm disgusted by them however, so a trap would be least preferable option since it will require handling of the rodents. Is there something I could use, either something smelly or a high-pitched sound generator of some sort that would drive them away? I don't have any other pets, so interference of the signal with pets is irrelevant.

The ph is good but the chlorine and bromine reading are orange, which I'm assuming is bad. It has been shocked twice in two weeks, clarifier and algea stop added and still it is murky and light green. Is there anything else I can do with this?

If the price was reasonable, would you buy a roomba robotic vacuum?

I'm considering it b/c I live with two guys who aren't clean people. One works in a stable with horses and brings home alot of straw and dirt and the other works 12-15 hours a day, and doesn't clean up after himself besides doing dishes and laundry once in a while.
I don't mind being the person who has to clean alot of the time, but I do hate vacuuming.

Under circumstances like that would you buy one? I'm leaning towards yes.

I live in the desert and it gets hot. So I usually get a child size pool for the summer for the kids. Problem is, everytime I fill it up the water is ice cold. Is there anyway to heat the pool up? My sis tried putting some hot water in hers one time but that trick didn't work.

For an alternative, I have also hooked up a kids sprinkler to the hose. I just thought someone might know some good tricks or something....

I've got some old seeds, packed for 1996. They're a decade old... but I thought I'd try and see if they'll still sprout. Is it worth the time (and, heh, the water) to try it? Any tips or suggestions?

I’m looking for something to take care of light duty (trimming medium branches, breaking them down afterwards) as well as something that can double as a hedge trimmer. Still weighing the pros and cons of battery/electric/gas. Also trying to keep it under $150. 10 points to whoever can help me out. Thanks!

I can not call an exterminator because it is an apartment building and Ive already been told I can't have them come spray. I have those um, i think there called silverfish, the long skinny bugs, and little beetley looking bugs alot and those tiny tiny brown beetles with blackish spots. I also get spiders but I know spiders keep ants away so they dont bother me so much. Anyone have any ideas? Does anyone know what those bugs are called?
