anyone have any at home sort of things that will help white roses last longer? mine usually die pretty quickly. i know to cut the tips diagonally under running water and change the water/recut tips every other day, but that's about it.

if anyone had some tips it would be awesome.

I need to know whether I have a load bearing wall in my house before it gets ripped down. The architect has only just mentioned that we should maybe check it out (even though he's already charged over £200 for supposed investigative work) We have tried to do it ourselves and even though the rafters look like it's not load bearing as they go in the same direction, part of the wall also goes down into the foundations which makes us a bit suspicious. so, we need to get it checked out for sure - but by whom? A structural engineer? is it our responsibility or should our architect have sorted all this out for us? Help!

I have one of those fireplaces with a gas log where you turn on the gas and hold a long match to the artificial log to light it. I am always terrified of incinerating myself (or at least singing some eyebrows). Where should I hold the match relative to the pile of fake logs? Also, do I need to hold the match up to the vent to get the flow of air up the chimney instead of down (as cold air tends to fall down when the flue is opened).

Without a wet tile-cutting saw. Any common way (e.g. to score) and then gently break.

I can't afford to pay a pest control person to come take care of the fleas, so what's the best "at home remedy" to get rid of fleas in your house? They are biting us, and I need to do something before it gets even worse.

Thanks in advance! :o)

I am buying a house next year and want to rent a room. I notice most people give people access to the kitchen and laundry room. My problem is that I don't want to give access to my living room. Is living room access usually expected?

Ok, a couple years ago I built a pingpong table made of 2x4's and compressed wood top, with basic paint. Now here's the dilemma. I need to damage the table severely, dues to abuse from roommates. Unfortunately I have to do it quietly, so no sawing, termintes etc. One thing its in a common living room, and I have to live here for the next 1.5 years. So I'm looking for people who how to do it, from either pranks as kids or mistakes as adults. Thanks
