I love the little fellas, but unfortunately we have a dog who tries to hunt them.........

Human hair !They don`t like the smell of humans so it keeps them away ,go to you`re local barbers and ask if you could collect a plastic bag of hair ,they won`t mind as i am a barber and this is how i know about this someone asked the same once !
Get tights cut the them in to little sacks of hair in side and hang them around you`re garden and even put them on the ground !!!

Lucky you, wish i would get more of them, they really are cute aren't they. I have a couple visiting here now and again. My dogs just sniff them and leave it alone then. Don't know how to keep them out of garden but good luck.

ok so have you ever gone to a hunting store find a spray that natrually repels the animal due to the sent works for other animals to or the dog might catch one

I know you can "broadcast" moth balls to keep snakes out of your yard. Maybe that would be foul enough to keep them out.

there isn't one really apart from block all the holes in the fences etc so they can't climb through
