I moved to the mountains about 8 months ago and I've recently discovered I have a mouse problem, which I'm not surprised because I'm surrounded by wildlife. People told me to get cats to keep the mice away but I can't because I have 2 dogs. Also, I would rather not use mouse traps, they seem so unsanitary and messy. I have checked all the walls and cupboards, I don't even know how they're getting in! Any suggestions on how to get rid of these pests?

I just moved into a house in Indiana and found out that there is squash growing in the yard. I don't know what type it is and was hoping for some help. It is about 7 or so in" tall and about 8" around. It is shaped like a BIG eggplant and is green with yellow spots. It is pretty much smooth with a few bumps on it. Can anyone help??
