I just moved into a house in Indiana and found out that there is squash growing in the yard. I don't know what type it is and was hoping for some help. It is about 7 or so in" tall and about 8" around. It is shaped like a BIG eggplant and is green with yellow spots. It is pretty much smooth with a few bumps on it. Can anyone help??
Thanks -

It sounds like an overgrown zucchini squash. Here is a link to the California Polytech vegetable identification website:

Click on the various squash varities for photos and information.

Good luck with your search for information.

Are you sure it's a squash? Sounds like a Moon and Stars watermelon to me

Sounds like a hubbard squash possibly? If that is what it is ~ it is good with brown sugar...

It may be a very large zucchini. Does it look like this?
