I am curious if there is a way to figure how much it would be to build a home without the labor. Every sight I search shows the national average cost for home building but they throw in the national labor wage. How do I figure it out?

i live in a 4 bedroom house in which only 2 are occupied. we usually just turn on the heater overnight before going to bed because it gets cold and so that it's not freezing when we wake up. would it be more cost effective to get 2 portable heaters than to turn on the central heater overnight?

There is this mouse in my apartment, and now he's eating stuff from my kitchen in obvious and disgusting ways. I've tried poison packets and glue traps but it's not working...any suggestions?

We tried Propane last year and the cost was out-rageous. This year we are trying kerosene heaters, but it is still somewhat costly, even though not as much. I would appreciate any and all suggestions.

I was told that you can put moth balls around your house and they will stay away, but they smell soooooo bad!

I love a lot of their shows, but Designed to Sell is my favorite. (the one with Clive, not the newer one.)

We have a gas log fireplace. Do they sell anything that can be put on the logs or into the fire to make it smell like real wood burning?

Can anyone out there tell me if they have seen an antique bronze cooker hood, chimney style 60cm. I have spent days searching the net but can't find any. I can't believe that you can buy bronze taps, bronze accessories, i have a bronze cooker but they don't seem to supply bronze cooker hoods...?

It's my new job to convince people to have this done. It is free for a lot of people and there are great benefits in having it done not only for the billpayer but also the environment so why are some people just not interested in having it done when it is a very quick and clean process to install. ?and saves them 35% on their heating bills? It just bewildersme why someone wouldn't have it?

I am looking to buy a new bed, and I think that the highest quality mattress would be a good investemnt.

As fasr as I know so far, the best quality mattress you can get is pocket sprung underneath with a memory foam topper.

But I also know there are new types of springs, and mattresses which are completely foam with no springs.

Please let me know your experiences good and bad with matresses. If you have back pain and they helped, whether it was the best purchase you ever made! etc...

I'd also like to know some websites that provide high quality mattresses at competitive prices, and are UK based. Preferably I would also like a long guarantee, I have seen 5 year guarantees but are there 10 year, 20 year or longer ones?

many thanks

My sister and law washed a pair of pants with a pipe in the pocket (the marijuana kind) and there are stains on the pants. Anyone know a way to remove them easily?
By the way, it wasn't my pipe unlike first accused. I just want to help.

We are preparing to construct a new home for our family of four. We have two small children. I have looked through the numerous books and/or design and planning sites and have a pretty good idea as to what type of home that we want (a farmhouse). My question is this: For those of you who have been involved in the construction of your own homes, what things can you not live without that you included in your new home and what things do you wish that you would have done differently or included? Thank you for you input.
