Resin stains?

My sister and law washed a pair of pants with a pipe in the pocket (the marijuana kind) and there are stains on the pants. Anyone know a way to remove them easily?
By the way, it wasn't my pipe unlike first accused. I just want to help.

It's a tar stain and I think de-natured alcohol or diacitone will do the trick.

Nope, I've never, never, never, been able to find a way to get that black stuff out. In fact, I still have a pair of cut-off jeans from my younger, wilder days that still have a black spot on them. Sorry, but I think they're ruined.
