It's my new job to convince people to have this done. It is free for a lot of people and there are great benefits in having it done not only for the billpayer but also the environment so why are some people just not interested in having it done when it is a very quick and clean process to install. ?and saves them 35% on their heating bills? It just bewildersme why someone wouldn't have it?

269 pounds if you are not in receipt of any benefits or pensions...so why wouldn't you have it done...is it because your natural suspicious attitude would mean you'd miss out on this?

You wouldnt have to convince me! I have a bungalow built in the 1960s and when I switch the heat off the place goes cold instantly. It's only 2 bedrooms but because of the layoout there's quite a large surgace area of external wall. I just havent gotten round to doing it yet but if someone came to my door and offered to do it at that price I'd go for it straight away.

You need to show them the pros - how much they would save in the long run, especially now as the fuel prices are getting quite high and we should be thinking of ways of saving energy.

Good luck !

I would reject it because I live in an old house, therefore do not have cavity walls! You would have to re-build my house to put the insulation in, if you want to do that for £269 then give me a call!

are you new to sales??? i have nealy 4 years sales experience, and it doesnt amtter if you were giving away a million quid with no catches, some people just wouldnt want it....i know it is crazy, but that is just the way it is.
the best thing is to move away from those who arent interested at all and move on to the next person and forget about those who arent interested.
the most important thing in sales is to gain the trust of the person you are trying to sell to.......i take it that you are selling door to door??
you can gain the trust of thepeople a number of ways...the first is your appearance (it is true that you have less than 5 seconds to make that all important first impression) make sure you are dressed very smartly, shirt, tie, full suit preferably, be clean shaven, and polish your shoes evry morning.....along with how you are dressed, it is also important you carry your self properly -- hold your head high and keep your shoulders back....and have a smile on your face (not a big cheesy one, but just a natural smile)
i dont kno what trrainig you have had...but i was always taught about s.e.x = smile, eye contact, excitement....having eye contact shows the other perso that you arent lying, and be excited as the excitement will rub off onto the other person, and who wants to listen to a boring person???? no-one!!!!!
sales has always been a numbers game, so the more people you speak to, the more sales you will get. so organise your time efficiently and also your territory as well...make sure you arent having to walk for 15 minutes to start again from where you finish.......also, qualify people as quickly as possible...i dont know about cavity wall insulation, but i imagine that some people cant have it (if they already have it or whatever) get these questions out of the way as soon as posible...and also dont entertain timewasters, and believe me there are loads of them out there!!!
i also dont know your pitch...but make it into whatever you feel natural saying..and KISS it -- keep it short and simple, and dont try to overcomplicate it, cuz you will either confuse people or bore them.
and talk with confidence...from your question i can see that you believe in your product which is good....tell people so..tell them you dont see why they wouldnt do it bearing in mind the benefits..they will usually tell you....and whatever objection they give, you can turn it around...when talking to the customer, be loud, but dont shout (obviously) being loud comes across as confidence and that is always good. also, be quick when turning around objections, saying "umm" before answering a question will eat away at their trust, cuz te customer needs to believe that you can arrange everything before they even agree -- even though i know you dont, but they generally wont know that.
and dont let people telling you no affect you..if you get down cuz someone told you to f*** off and then go to the next door diheartened, they could have said yes, but cuz you werent as confident and sounded like you dont believe you can do it, you didnt build enough trust in them for them to agree........every no really does bring you closer to a yes.
also find teh motivation..i dont know teh money you are getting, but, think of something you want...and how many sales you need to get enough money to buy it..and keep that in yourmind....or anothr way is, figure out your weekly costs - rent, food, petrol/transport, anything else you have to pay (gym costs etc) and assign each day of the week to pay that cost/s. this will give you the motivation to get the sales. and motivation will keep you wanting it.
just perservere with it all...it will come as you get more confident in the product, and your knowledge increases as well.
if you want any more advice at all, dont hesitate to get in touch with me...my msn is hayhed_2k3@hotmail.com my yahoo id is hayhed_2k6
add me to messenger if you want more advice
good luck with the job anyway

Yeah i wanted it done, firstly before the gas price hike they were quoting £180, aftwerwards it doubled. I decided to leave it for a while as i got the impression demand was so high they were charging whatever they liked.

Because people just don't have the money...
Come on, how much does the company charge for it?

£1000's I bet. The saving would take years to re-coup.
