My electicity bill is so expensive recently.
I do my best to switch things off and use things to a minimum and i still can't keep it down.
Any advice for cheaper bills?

Switching things off ,when not in use is a great start, but also the opposite is true,,,eg,fluro lights ,cost about 5cents to start & about 1 cent/hr to run,so sometimes its cheaper to leave fluro lights on.Analyze youre bill/account ,study when your highest consumption period is (morn/noon/nite) & make adjustments accordinglyThere are plenty of ways to make A/c or heaters more efficeint ,like closeing windows/curtains,blocking draughts, thermostat adjustment ,eg,eg,eg

I have had this old farm house all my life....the electricity used to run over 100.00 a month with no appliances and air conditioning or heat.....when I remodeled and put in new wiring and a great electric central air and heat I couldn't believe my eyes when I got my first middle of the summer bill and it was 200.00 for a very cool 2000 sq. ft of house. Maybe you are living either in an apartment where they don't care about insulation and quality of air conditioning and heat units or you are living in a very old house like mine used to be.

Change all your lights to new energy efficient ones. Put a coat and lower the thermostat. If you're gone all day long turn off your heater. Stop leaving the appliances on when not being used.

And if none of these work, move back to mom.

I put towels under doors and along bottoms of windows.
If you meet certain requirements, you can ask for a reduction from the electric company. I don't know where you are but we can here in Oregon.

Yes, you are alone. A/C, Pool (if you have one) Stove, Water Heater, Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer...that's what uses the juice.
Turning out lights is useless.
