We keep our house fairly clean, but recently, many gnats have appeared, flying around the house. They aren't in bunches like you would find them outside, but alone. Could there be some animal or spoiled food in my house that is causing them to come in?

My husband & I have lived here for 2 years and since then the house next door has been an eyesore as it has been abandoned for that whole time. Now the town tells the owner to display signs that it's a dangerous property with "No Trespassing" signs. Well, today I find a sign in my back yard! It is his fence I guess but we have been maintaining it over the past 2 years...it fell apart a few times so we bought new lumber and fixed it up. I called the police to see if I can remove the sign from our back yard and they said "it's their fence so he can do whatever he wants". So, we are STUCK with this awful "No Trespassing" sign directly in our nice and tidy back yard. We can put up another fence but it will cost us $ we don't have. The worst part is that we are selling our house and potential buyers see this ugly sign. Argh it's frustrating! Husband says he's taking it down. I said we can't since I called the police and they said no. Would you take it down or relax about it?

They are everywhere in the livingroom and tv room. No one eats in those rooms and no food is left lying around. Why are they there and how do I get rid of them?

My husband and I have just moved into a basement flat. It is rather lovely except that we are overrun by cats. It seems that everyone in the neighbourhood has one. They constantly enter the flat throught the windors or any open doors (now the foxes have started walking into the flat as well). We are constantly having to clean cat poo from all the entrances to the flat. It is now getting worse as we can hardly open the windows at all as it smells really badly of cat pee and poo. The garden is overrun by them.

Neither of us are very fond of cats (and do not have any pets). We are rather fed up now and want to keep all the cats away. I remember hearing of a cat scarer a long time ago. doess such a thing exist and is it humane to use? Can anyone out there please suggest any possible methods of keeping the cats awaya We would like to reclaim out garden but particulalry our flat back.
Thanks in advance.

I live in Ohio & there's a nest of them in the corner of my parent's attic. They sort of look like hornets but gigantic ones!

Ive heard its supposed to be a mild winter, but then ive also heard its supposed to be unseasonably cold.

Trying to decide if i should just set fire to the house to buffer heating costs, or if we can actually survive for less than 2000 bucks in fuel oil. Damn heating costs.

Thanks!
