I'm visiting my mom for a little while, and I hate her water. When I try and wash soap off of my body, it feels like I'm washing with slime. It feels like the soap doesn't come off. She was a water conditioner and everything, and uses salt too. Also the water stains the tub orange. It's so gross, and I was wondering if there is something I can do to help the water, or is it just in my mind that the soap isn't coming off?

Yesterday, after I changed the extremely dirty air filter, I turned off the AC and just ran the fan for 4 hours and I thought I had everything melted. When I turned the AC back on, It seemed to work for a while but this morning I saw it had frozen up again and the air was not cold that was comimng out my vents. The furnace/AC is only about 3 years old.

The upstairs and downstairs temperatures are way different. To get a decent temperature upstairs you have to set it to freezing, which makes the bottom floor unbearably cold.

When the bottom floor is the percect temperature, the top floor is way to hot. Whats wrong?

I have 3 fans running in my small apartment which sure seem like they are eating up energy. They are medium sized typical fans you would get at walmart etc. DO these still use much less energy than if i went and got out my little air conditioner, and turned off the fans? (Obviously i'm looking for educated guesses not exactness.

I am looking for a fogger (similar to a fogger used to bomb a house for roaches) used for eliminating odors. I saw it used on one of the flip shows on TV. If anyone can help let me know.

For all these years my mom has done all the house work alone, but now she's going to be gone for a month. I need to take care of the whole house myself. I'm not used to doing all these house chores and i'm not familiar with it at all. I know I need to water the plants, feed the goldfish, change the tank, wash dishes, cook for dinner, vacuum, laundry, but what else am I missing? Give me suggestions?

We live in the country in KS. We have no shade trees. Our home is a double wide manufactured home on a permanent foundation. It doesn't have high ceilings, and only 1 floor. The problem is the house gets hot during the day even though the ac is running. At 9:00 p.m., it is still about 82 degrees in here. I just think the AC isn't working quite right. Any suggestions?

When I turned on the light, it made a big pop sound and the light bulbs did not light up. After a few choice words, I kept loading the washing machine. The washer would not start, and the circuit braker was blown. I reset the breaker and tried to start the washer. The light fixture again made a loud pop. I checked that the breaker was fully off, and opened the fixture, and took out the two bulbs. There was some soot on one bulb fixture and the warning label looked well browned.

I dont want to get taken by an electrician, so any clue as to what is wrong, and how to fix it is really appreciated. If it is something I can fix myself, that would be good too.

THANKS!!!!
