I'm visiting my mom for a little while, and I hate her water. When I try and wash soap off of my body, it feels like I'm washing with slime. It feels like the soap doesn't come off. She was a water conditioner and everything, and uses salt too. Also the water stains the tub orange. It's so gross, and I was wondering if there is something I can do to help the water, or is it just in my mind that the soap isn't coming off?

A lot of minerals have collected in the water. Maybe the water conditioner isn't working right. Talk to your mom about it. By the way, the orange stain is rust.

Her water is not hard. When you wash your hands with hard water, your hands dry up right away after using a hand towel. Soft water leaves your hands feeling slippery still - like the soap is still on them. I have very hard water and I look forward to visiting people with soft water so I can wash my hair and it not itch like crazy!

That slippery slimy feeling like the soap is still on you is what soft water feels like, not hard water.

That orange stain is iron oxide (rust).

Because the water is loaded with mineralswhich bind with the soap.
Yes, hard water sucks!
Maybe her water softener is not working properly?

I think it's in your head, you can't really feel the difference. You can buy a water softener.

Not in your mind. There are things that can be done, but it's expensive.
