The lighter I am wishing to refill is a kitchen lighter

no i would not try it. it can damage the lighter or even start a fire. and i dont think the fumes that u will breathe are any good either. just buy the normal lighter fluid before you get burned.

just what i think, you are more than welcome to try and see what happens.

I would not recommend it. Lighter fuel is basically gasoline, but polish remover typically is a blend of acetone with other glop that will foul up your lighter. Also, the price is wrong; polish remover is expensive.

That's foolish and risking your health. I had a friend and we worked with White Gas, highly volatile, he filled his lighter with that. On one break on a shipping dock he went out for a smoke. We heard a loud "Pop" and found him screaming on the dock, his face injured and burned by the lighter.
