It is more than likely clogged with my hair. I have tried drano, as well as the liquid plumber that fizzes, which I realized after the fact is just glorified drano with hydrogen peroxide in it....woopty doo. Any better suggestions that won't mess up the tub and don't involve a plumber? I've also heard of red lye, but can't find it. Anyone know where to get that?

Plumber today informed me after an hour that a water pump in my basement that works in conjunction only with a bathroom in that area, needs to be replaced. The problem is that the original installer of that pump did not use piping that has sections and now, when the pump is removed water (exact quantity unknown) will spill onto the carpeted floor...the plumber mentioned placing plastic on the floor; however, I would like to know if there is a product that absorbs liquids that spill, similar to a sponge???I need to purchase same before any work is done...

I am trying to decide between a Goodman and Trane HVAC systems. The price for the Goodman is 70% of the Trane. The Goodman also has a far superior warranty. Is Trane that much better? Is it worth the cost?

Anyone know how much I should expect to pay to have a professional install ceramic tile flooring? The prep work has been done. The tile is 12" x 12", there's about 90 sq ft of floor (concrete... sealed). I've purchased the materials (tile, thinset, grout). I just want to know how much to expect to pay for labor. Is $5.00 per sq ft. too much? That's the quote I was given. Thanks for any help.

This is a single-family residence built in 1928 but renovated a few times. Windows look original because they are wooden. They are starting to get stuck in the frame due to warping and other issues over time. Does upgrading windows add value to the house if I plan to re-sell? This home is in San Francisco Bay Area where home prices are generally through the roof.

The lawn mower is a Briggs & Stratton, and was bought last year brand new and I bought the warrenty on it. I would take it in immediately, but last week we went through a period where it was raining every day. When it finally stopped raining I could not get out and mow because of my work schedule. While I was working my lawn was growing. Today, first thing, I got out the mower and it would not start. It sounds like it wants to start, but can't.

After doing everything I could think of to fix it, which was not much, I went to the corner store to get the newspaper and a cup of coffe. While I was there I saw a bottle of STP Fuel Injector & Carburetor cleaner. I read the bottle, and said "Hmmmm."

I bought it, and am now afraid to use it. My question is is it safe to use on a push lawnmower, and if so how much??

I would love to get the mower to mow just long enough to mow my jungle, and then I'll glady take it to get fixed properly.
