Straighten a metal clothes hanger and put a small hook in the end, that will fit down into the trap. Twist it a few times and pull it back out. Repeat untill all the hair is removed. Yucka, nasty stuff!

RE:
What is the best way to unclog a bathtub drain?
It is more than likely clogged with my hair. I have tried drano, as well as the liquid plumber that fizzes, which I realized after the fact is just glorified drano with hydrogen peroxide in it....woopty doo. Any better suggestions that won't mess up the tub and don't involve a plumber?...

the waste and overflow, that's the lever on the tub. their are 2 screws on the platecover. cover the drain,so that you do not drop the screws in the drain. unscrew the screws and pull the entire assembly out, without turning the adjustment. as you pull out, you might get lucky and pull out a dogtail. (the clog, hair, soap, it looks like a dogtail) if not get yourself a hand spinner from homedepot, the clog is usually in the trap. after you unclog it , reassemble the waste and overflow, fill the tub up a little, and watch for a whirlpool as it is draining. if you have a whirlpool you know you have fixed the problem

Go to Ace and buy a brush made for drains - it looks like a long pipe cleaner w/a handle on it. They're about a foot long or so & do a great job of removing hair from drains. Be careful w/the chemicals.

Short of calling a plumber, you'll have to go to the store and get the device that you put down the drain and it grabs the clogged hairs.

There is an inexpensive tool sold at Home Depot that you insert into the tub drain and it snags the hair so you can pull it out.

... I've heard my husband using the toilet plunger for my long hair in the bathtub drain... and the water drains great by the time I get in... so must work.
