We switched the hot and cold water lines to the sink and the water pressure is still only low for the hot water. Therefore, it doesn't seem to be my faucet.

We just recently have a new roof put on just about three years ago. The adjustor came out and said with the hail damage we will be compensated for a new roof. The roof is not leaking and I hate to add all this fairly new roofing to the landfill. Can I just wait until I actually have a leak? Maybe that could be years? I just don't want to be wasteful. I would be willing to save the money for a rainy day!!

I live in an apartment in california. Recently I had to have a leak under the kitchen sink fixed. I noticed today the leak came through the walls into the living room and now there is black mold on the living room wall and all under my kitchen sink. I cant find anything about the laws on that in apartments in california. Is the landlord supposed to clean it up??? I am 8 and a half months pregnant and I very worried about it.

i once had hamsters and i was told that if you fed them rocolli it would kill them . i have recently had some problems with rodents and was wondering if there is any non- chemical bait that would kill mice that will not harm my dogs if they had gotten a hold of the carcuss.

The biggest step you can take to lower your electric bill is to raise your thermostat. Each degree below 78 degrees can add three percent to the amount of energy needed for cooling. For some reason it does not make sense to me. It was on a paper that came with my electric bill.

I called a plumber who used a plunger and acid to clear it, two days later, I flushed it with only a kleenex in it and it overflowed again. So, the plumber is telling me to plunger it, but there's got to be some other problem. any suggestions?

I want to get backup generator power if we have a blackout. The home standby systems are way too expensive. I see Briggs and Stratton has an Elite Series 09801 portable generator which CR says is good. However, I'm not sure how much it will cost to get a transfer switch installed by an electrician so i can just "plug" the generator's electric power into the home electricity system. I don't want to get ripped off and i'm not a millionaire. I went through the December 2001 ice storm and didn't have power for 7 days... it was terrible...

We are insulting an older home (pre 1920). We are interested in puchasing the most effective long lasting insulation that we can find. We have talked with contractors; one says cellulose is the way to go; the other says fiberglass is the way to go. We would like to see a non-biased comparison of the two types of insulation.
thank you.
