theres a bird.

he lives in the tree outside my office window

i dont usually have a problem with birds but this one is insane

he routinely makes it a game to sit on the branch of the tree then crash into the window as hard as he can.

hes not dead yet. (obviously)

and the window's not broken

but its the most annoying thing. he'll do it over and over again.

most of the time it'll be 500-700times a day

does anyone know what he wants or why he/she might be doing this?

if this helps, its a greyish-brown colored bird, with a red belly, and its rather fat when it sits down on the branch.
while flying its about 3/4 of the size of a crow, and it has an orange beak.

although he seems to be there all the time, there is no nest that i can see and even if there was im not going up there to try to get it down and relocate the little motherfuc|
please help me someone...anyone?

I bought common houseplant seeds from home depot (don't really know which, just picked up a few to make my house look nicer) and put a few of them in some dirt in a small pot. The room has a fairly large window but it is not in direct sunlight, it is on a table right next to a incandescent light bulb which is on a good amount of time per day, will my plant grow? I've heard they help it grow but just not that much. The light bulb is used for general lighting in the room anyways so it's on a good amount of the time...so I was thinking I could kill 2 birds with one stone. Will it grow at all?

We have a lot of potted plants out at our cottage but we also have an investation of chipmunks. We love having them there but they always get into the plants. Are there any ways, without killing them, to keep them off the plants? If not are there just certain plants they go for that we shouldn't plant?

We have moved into a house with a garden that looked like a jungle. We have cut everything down. Is there anything I can put down to kill everything to prepare my ground before putting turf?

We just built a pergola and planted climbing roses of a hearty old rose type, and want to ensure we keep them healthy. We refuse to use any chemicals, and make our own compost and use rabbit pen droppings as fertilizer. They are growing well, but one of my nearby rose bushes has something eating at the leaves, leaving them with little holes in them. What can I do to prevent this?

There are little slimy silvery slugs making swiss cheese of my coleus plants. I hate to revert to insecticides. Can anyone help?

Been wanting a Gardenia. Seen the 'big' ones - prob 6+ ft. Purchased a 'Mystery' yesterday but read later only 3 ft tall. Does anyone know? Or which are the bigger ones? Can't even seem to find a good site w/different Gardenias & their sizes, etc.

Thanks!!

What is the best way to get rid of snails once you've caught the blighters? I don't fancy just killing them. Can they serve a useful purpose elsewhere?

My dogs have killed various patches in my lawn. I want to replant those areas and then build a small run for them to use for the bathroom to save the rest of the lawn. Is there anything that will neutralize the ammonia in the urine and reseed those patches? Also is there a fertilizer or other chemical that I can apply periodically that will neutralize urine so that the rest of the grass doesn't die? Thanks so much!

I am looking for a good climbing rose to grow over my large stucco archway. I also have this ugly stucco retaining wall in the backyard that I would love to hide with a hardy climbing rose. Any suggestions?

Also, will the roses climb up the stucco on their own, or would I need to get a trellis as well?

Hi, I tried to take cuttings off of pyrcantha and put in water and they didn't root and I added some root toner to the water. I thought they said it was easy to do but I must have cut them wrong or have done something wrong. What bushes are easy to propogate and how from cuttings. How about holly ?
