i have a strawberries plant in my garden and its got loads of strawberries on it, but when do i pick them? Most of them are green but some of them are half red. Do they get redder after you pick them or do they only go red while on the plant?

Put some straw under the plants so that the strawberries lay on top, that way they get the sun more easily. Wait till they are as red as possible, half red is no good, they will not ripen afterwards, but just go mouldy!

You should wait until they are red or most of it is red. If there is a little white on it they should turn red a day or so after picked. My mom picks hers early a lot because the birds get in there and ruin them.

Pick them when they are completely red. There is a fine line between ripe and "over ripe". Mine turn red one day, and if I wait to pick them until the next day, they are already getting soft and almost maroon colored.

The earlier you pick them the less sweet they will be. Patiently wait for them to turn red all over and then pick to your heart's content.

Strawberries do not continue to ripen after you pick them.

Give it more time. Wait until they are good and red. If you wait longer when they are red they will get bigger.

When they look yummier than the red ones in the store,
THEY'RE READY!
