I have 4 rose bushes that are loosing their leaves, What is causing this? I water and fertilize regularly and they dont have any brown or black spots on the leaves, or and kinds of pests. The leaves are just falling off. I have 2 more on opposite ends that are doing great, and i treat them just the same and they have really nice, thick dark green leaves. All of them are full of buds. What can I do to prevent this or what is causing this? Thanks!

I have these wonderful double tulips that bloom like roses, they are red and the other yellow. I dug them up last year when they appeared to be wilting but this year hardly any came up. I notice there were a lot of single "leaves" that popped out, so did I mess up or do something wrong and will these single leaves one day be my tulips which pop up? I don't want to separate the other bulbs again in case I get none at all come up next year...if there's any technique to separating bulbs I'd like to know, as I've planted many bulb varieties this year which one day I'll want to propogate I'm sure.

I live in the pacific northwest. It would be instead of grass because I am totally allergic to grass. I would like something 3 inches max that doesn't need to be mowed. I would prefer something I could buy seeds for because I have about a 4000 sq ft area to cover.

I bought it about a month ago, planted it and it was doing great. Then, I heard about the 17 year cicadas in my area and read several articles saying we needed to cover our young trees and shrubs. I covered my target plants with some tulle netting for about two weeks. Since we haven't seen a single cicada in our area yet and I've read numerous articles saying that newer subdivisions probably won't even see the cicadas, I removed all the netting. My other plants are fine, but upon removing the netting from the Miss Kim, I immediately noticed it's leaves were floppy and kind of wilted. I gave it a good long watering, but it never bounced back. Since then, despite frequent waterings, it appears to be going downhill. The leaves are not discolored, but they are wilted/shriveled/curling. The stems appear to be fine though. Any ideas on what could be happening? Thanks!

I see many people cutting their yards sideways. Is there a practical reason for this? The only reason I can see is if the yard is on a hill it might be easier going at an angle. I heard someone say it made the grass grow better. I think its a load of crapoodle. What do you think?

If you want 10 points, then be experienced at this subject, Cutting and pasting site I can do myself by searching. I am hoping to find some good simple basic books or info on general propogation to skip the failures as much as possible. I know tons on flowers and if you want the most excellent book on starting flowers from seed, it is "From Seed to Bloom" by Eileen Powell, mine is 1995 and it is very very very good because she tells which are hard and which are easy etc. So how about a trade for some info on a book like this IF YOU HAVE USED IT AND KNOW FOR SURE. THANKS

I don't have a fenced in yard, but my neighbors fence runs along the back of my yard. He never weed eats and I have to get out and do it eventhough it is NOT my fence. I weed eat the side that I see, but he never sees it so I guess he assumes he is not responsible for the weeds growing up on the outside of the fence. I could see dong it if my yard was fenced in also and I was benefitting from the fence. But since I don't benefit from the fence, I don't think I am responsible for the maintenance of the outside of it.
