Can adding earthworms to my flower garden & to my vegetable garden help in the overall growth of my plants?

I was basically going to buy nightcrawlers from a bait & tackle shop. But which types of worms should I use?

Lastly, I plan on using compost & a compost bin in my garden this year. What other natural/organic tips can I use for my garden?

I know starbucks gives away coffee grounds to put in your garden but what for? Something about nitrogen? Nitrogen gas? Doesn't nitrogen gas evaporate after 72 hours? Can't just be about the Nitrogen?

The neighbours wall, which is the light browney one, our wall is the other.
What our builder has done is cemented my wall to his wall (reinforcement?). Neighbour has complained. BUT, if you look at photo titled "Wall - Outside", the wall is on our property - it is within our boundary as per the line on the floor.

First of all, is this legal, in terms of building regulations etc? and if he does take further action, what can i do to back up my side of the argument.

My neighbour is the neighbour from HELL, i think hes just after some quick cash, because if you notice from the photo, "Gate Pillar Before Wall", he never seemed to complain about that pillar being on his wall, now all of a sudden weve got a wall built hes complainging about cement, that he cant even see!

Please advise, many thanks.

Me and my friends found a catipiller and we've been taking care of it for more than a week. Its name is bob. Hes got alot of energy and i have him right now. Is he going to turn into a catipiller one day? Hes about 2 inches long, black with yellow markings with very small hairs. I dunno what type he is. so i dunno how to find out more about him.

I love the zoysia--soft as carpet, little mowing, survives any weather--but it may take over a neighbor's lawn in a year or two. Help!

How much would you expect a 6 foot by 10 foot pond to evaporate per day in hot weather?
And is it the sunshine or the temperature that causes more evaporation?

OK, here's the thing...I raked a lawn today, and it took me 1 hour to do. I had already done it earlier. Thelady's son was down and said i could rake it if I wanted, just clean up the leaves around the yard and sticks. not alot, but lots of small pieces of leaves around here and there. I filled 1 1/2 10 Gal garbage cans to empty in her woods. when i finished he said, so what do ya wan't? I said just give me $20.bucks I'll be happy. He said, 20! but it only took you 1 hour. He gave me the 20 but made it seem like it was alot more than he planned to pay...I couldn't see raking a lawn for any less.! don't you agree?

What can i mix with heavy clay soil to make it more easily worked? I have loads of bare patches on my lawn and need to re-seed but the ground is like concrete.

I live in San Antonio. Throughout the summer, most of my yard is in heavy, heavy shade. I love color but I'm tired of impatiens, begonias, caladiums, and coleus, and I don't have much luck with hostas. I'd also like to put in some perennials but don't have a lot to spend. Any suggestions? Or am I just out of luck? Thanks for any help.

Are cracks all over the lawn anything to worry about? I'm guessing it's because the soil round here is clay based and because it's so dry at the minute. Is there any way to lessen them or even better to get rid of them completely?
