Here are suggestions given in a book I bought on QVC, called Grandmother's Kritter Ridder, by Dr. Myles H. Bader:

Moles normally prefer to live on insects, but when the insects are intermingled with the root system of a plant, they will eat both the insect and the plant's roots. Their favorite bug is the grub and if you can control the grub population you will probably be able to control the mole population.

Spraying your yard in early spring for FLEAS will eliminate the majority of the grub population and reduce the overall number of insects for moles to feed on. Many different types of methods have been tried to remove moles including; smoke bombs, high-pressure water, poisons, rat bait, hand grenades and dynamite.

Because moles expend a high degree of energy they cannot survive more than a few hours without food.

Music to gopher by:
Gophers and moles do not like loud sounds. If you place a cheap transistor radio playing hard rock into their domain you will never see them again. They are very sensitive to sound waves.

Grub control:
If you control the grubs on your property, chances are that you will never have a mole around.

Where's the cat:
Used kitty litter placed into the mole's tunnel will cause them to move on to your neighbor's property very quickly.

Yuk:
Place an ear of fresh corn painted with roofing tar in their tunnel. They hate the odor of tar and will look for a new home in your neighbor's yard.

Get 'em on the run:
Drop a few Ex-Lax squares down heir hole. You will never see them again.

So... to get rid of the grubs, here's what the book says:
Gurbs vs Garlic:
Finely mince 5 garlic cloves and allow it to dry then cruck into a powder. Place the powder in 2 teaspoons of water and allow it to stand for 2 hours. Add 2 quarts of water, mix well, strain and place into sprayer. Test an area first in case the mixture is too potent for plant leaves. Spray the area where the grubs have been found. Use only glass spray jars, never metal since metal may react wiht the chemicals in the garlic.

I'm sure there are other ways but I like to try "natural" ways first. One possibilitiy is Gardens Alive is a garden supply business which speacializes in natrual remedies. I checked, and they also have mole repellent. Here's their website:

I hope I've helped. I know moles can cause a lot of problems with the lawn.

Garlic granules can deter some great pests mutually with moles. Pouring garlic granules into the mole runs below mole hills is a humane way of deterring moles because it would not injury them yet stops them burrowing further.

You can stuff rat poison down the holes , but if you have a cat or other animal that might eat on it later , could get secondary poisoning .
Or you can get traps set , catch & kill later .
