Me and my friends found a catipiller and we've been taking care of it for more than a week. Its name is bob. Hes got alot of energy and i have him right now. Is he going to turn into a catipiller one day? Hes about 2 inches long, black with yellow markings with very small hairs. I dunno what type he is. so i dunno how to find out more about him.

Unless bob dies, he may pupate. He needs to eat to store enough food energy to get him through the pupation process. They are very particular about the food as well as where he'll pupate. Some hang from trees, others seed shelter in crevices in bark or a building. Pupaption can take weeks or months, so be patient.

He will turn into a Monarch butterfly. He would be happiest if you put him outdoors on a tree branch so he can find a good place to spin a caccoon.
