I was told today by an arborist that it might take a couple years for everything to recover.

Just have patience

Heartbreaking, isn't it?

Well, your crepe myrtle might not be completely dead. The new growth, definitely. And sound like there was some branch-death. Think of it like frostbite. It may lose some "fingers". Or maybe limbs - but only up to the elbows if we're lucky.

The big difference from that analogy being that it can grow new limbs and fingers...

Patience is called for. Until it's been truely warm for several weeks, you won't be sure how far back the damage goes. Look for growth lower down on the plant. If by late-May, there is still no growth anywhere, you may have lost it. But give it time. If new growth appears, you can then easily see what's dead and what's not. Prune off the dead parts.

I think most everyone is in the same boat.......I have all of my flower garden like that. The thing I hate most is, I have several Japanese maples (6) 4 different kind's and all of them look bad. The good news is you can check to see if it is dead or alive. Take a small branch on your crepe myrtle and easily bend it back and forth, if it is flexible and doesn't break, then it has a chance of pulling out of it.
I did notice some very, very small buds on my trees. I'm going to give them a shot of root hormone to stimulate the growth. I sprinkle it around the base of the tree and water heavy to make it soak in. You might want to try that.
Good Luck! I hope your CM makes it.

Just wait until it starts to warm up. Crepe myrtles need the heat. I don't know where you live, but they haven't started getting new growth here either. Norma

because of the fact rejection is the toughest Emotion to handle. adult men can get quite violent, ladies can bypass off into the deep end! It hurts lots, and those sort of issues make you freeze up interior considering the fact which you merely have not got the boldness it takes to confront your guy or woman thoughts up front and private. you're baring your soul to this guy or woman and letting your self in for a painful adventure, probable? I propose what are you settling for? a minimum of now you get to speak to him yet would desire to you nonetheless communicate over with him if he rejects you? And good now that feeling of getting to speak to him feels quite sturdy, or maybe that regardless of the undeniable fact that quite small while taken away will harm lots. So the two tell him as we communicate out, or write him a short letter and then get his answer and know as quickly as and for all, or merely settle for being acquaintances and recover from it, quite in case you think of it is one sided. ask your self what has he honestly executed to make you experience that he feels the comparable as you do? reality time is a frightening time, yet I constantly discover it is greater useful to gently bypass in and say the way you experience and gently await his respond. If he says definite, you bypass from there. yet while he delays or stalls or says out good NO, then ask despite if it is great for you 2 to stay acquaintances? a minimum of from this element you are able to bypass on. good now all you're doing is putting off the reality.
