I just put out Weed 'n' Feed fertilizer about a week ago. We had a nice, slow rain last night. Now my weeds are a foot tall. Should I let the W 'n' F kill the weeds, or go ahead and mow them? My lawn looks awful!

I have bought two boxes of roses from the garden centre and I have planted them. It says on the box that you musn't plant them in wet or frosted weather. So why did they tell me to soak them before planting them? And how long will it take for them to look very rosy?

I have a small-ish and flat garden. The corner is all soil and plain. My mother has given me about 10 rocks which are about 12 -15 inches in length and width.

I tried to build a rockery in the corner of my garden but it has turned out like a roman wall. I'm hoping my neighbours don't see it through their bedroom window as they'll think I'm not all there.

Please please help me!!! I will be so grateful if you can give me some tips on rockerys and small gardens as I can't find any websites that can help me.

I have a cottage in the West of England with woodland and the Highways people have asked me to trim back about 200 yards of beech trees and to fell one of them which is a huge tree. They are closing the main road for this to be done on a Sunday so I am paying double time etc. What is a reasonable price?

The stems actually look like a thick piece of floss. I have about 14 plants and they're all about 6-8 inches now. They don't really stand up much, most of them look more like a thin vine on the ground. This is my first time growing tomatoes, is this normal?

My fiddle leaf fig plant has been growing slowly indoors for about 5 years now. I'd like to relocate it outdoors to speed up growth, but there's a problem. The wide top leaves sit on thin trunks, and even a little wind makes the whole plant sway so much that I'm worried the plant will snap in half!

I've started putting the plant outdoors in a low wind area on low wind days, but I'm wondering if there's some way to thicken and strengthen the trunks? (pruning?)

My garden was turfed almost 2 years ago. They laid a full lawn, which started growing nicely. Now, though, there isn't a blade of grass to be seen, but my plants (and a load of wild plants and weeds) are doing fine. I'm fed up cos I have the most unattractive, bare soil garden. Can anybody tell me what might have caused this?

Ps I know what to do about it (seed some more grass).

PPS All my neighbours' gardens are fine, so it can't be a local problem.

I am a landscaper and I was trying to decide if I should put out advertisement mainly this week or wait until next week when more people are more likely to be looking for somebody.

I live in Tennessee.

We recently purchased a home in southern Indiana and the yard is a diaster. It's a decent size yard and the people who had it before did absolutely nothing to it. I moved from a home where the yard was my pride and joy. So moving to this home is killing me. Not only is the yard an ugly mess, there is a lot of mole damage! My first goal is to get rid of the moles and I already have a plan. I purchased the Ortho Grub-Ex and plan on putting a good dose on the yard as soon as I can. When should I spread the application? The bag says mid-April to mid-August but scotts.com says mid-June to mid-August. Can I put it on now (mid-March) or should I wait until mid-April (or later)? In addition, can I use the Turfbuilder with Crabcrass Killer on the yard at the same time or is that not a good idea? There are so many problems with this yard and I would like tackle as many as possible this season.
