I would start by locating a member of the OLCA - The Oregon Landscape Contractors Assoication. You can do a search by town or zip at the website www.oregonlandscape.org.

Choose 3-5 names and call them and ask them to make a sale call at you home. Nothing is worse than a contactor that never shows up, so choose the first three that repsond and ask them for references; names and telephone numbers so you can talk to previous clients, and addresses so you can visit and see the quality and style of work.

Don't choose the cheapest, but rather look for someone that has talent, is professional and is responsive.

If you appreicate my advice check out my blog by searching the phrase "The Plant Hunter Blog." It's a great way to learn about cool plants and exotic locations.

try your local phone book, also try asking friends, you should always ask for an estimate, experience should be considered too, ask when you should expect ur job done, if it is done late u can always ask for a deduction
