clay soil has a lot of nutrients in it it just does not drain water that well.if you can mix sand or compost with it you can grow almost anything.clay is a fine soil and sand is a course soil..

Any above ground vegetable should do well. Clay soil makes it more difficult for root vegetables like beets, peanuts, and potatoes, but vegetables which produce above ground should handle it well.

cabbage family best, suggest for other veggies,soil from cheap grow bags-emptied on top of existing "soil" and gently dig in with hand fork, do a bit at a time.

use dwarf varieties of veggies, so that the elements don't damage roots.

if you have chance get compost going and dig in over winter

Tomatoes probably, they will grow almost anywhere sunny...however, if you have clay soil, you can always dig a big hole and put in miracle grow soil and put the plant in that. Know what i mean.

ANYTHING! Veggies, fruit and flowers lovvve clay! All the fruit and veggie growers come from clay soil areas...lucky you!
