I'm looking for a houseplant that can withstand a good chewing from my cat while simultaneously not harming her. I put them out of her reach, but she climbs and jumps to get at them. Any suggestions on something that is non-toxic and safe for her?

Has anybody had any experience with Royal Empress trees purchased from:

fast-growing-trees.com ?

Well, I just received mine yesterday and when I showed it to my Co-workers they asked if somebody sent it to me as a Valentines Day Joke! haha. It's a 1 foot twig with a couple of roots on it! Is there actually hope for this stick, um, I mean, tree?

If anything, it's provided a few laughs and the Mimosa I ordered was almost the same but as promised by the grower was about 4ft!

Where can I get them online? Or how do you make them? I'm talking about real live roses where one rose has the colors of the rainbow on it!

I'd like to create a white themed garden that looks pretty at night and will blend in my back yard corner area. I know that the moonflower is a good choice for a running vine. Are there any white flowering evergreen shrubs or other choices I can choose from also? I think that white is elegant and relaxful for a garden setting.

I have a beautiful Rose Of Sharon next to my house. I tied the small trunks together to make a topiary out of it when it was given to me by my neighboor years ago. It's grown at least 8 feet now and is beautiful when in bloom. I have started a seedling to see if I'd have any luck growing them and its about 4 inches high now with 2 leaves. I'd like to start more and am needing some advice on how to care for them and how fast will they grow per year, etc. I'd like to grow them and plant them in my back yard; also would like to form more topiaries out of them and grow them to sell in our town garden sale each spring in the near future, or plant them around my home town. Thanks......

Are there any good sites that show examples of landscaping with flower beds. I have a little bit to work with this spring and want to landscape the front of my house, but I need some ideas.

One side of the enterance to my driveway has a short retaining wall and in the spring, there are blooming plants that pour over the wall - it's really pretty. The other side is level with the drive, no wall, and I want to make it mirror the other side.

Problem is, there's a tree there that I don't want to remove. It's a mature tree that turns vibrant yellow in the spring and then turns green in the summer. I don't know what kind of tree it is.

I think if I put a lot of dirt there, around the base of the trunk, I might smother the tree. I thought maybe if the build-up of dirt was done gradually, it might work.

I need to "raise" the tree about three feet for it to work, so the level will match the other side of the drive . Any ideas about this?

I need to know how to landscape a lawn. I want it to have green grass. What kind of fertilizer do i use? ............

Hello everyone,
I would like to grow a lawn from scratch in Tokyo, and am wondering about which seed is best to purchase. The locals prefer zoysia, which is okay as a display garden, but too tough and spikey for my kids to play on. Also, it goes dormant and brown and ugly in winter.
Ideally, I would like to have an all-year-round soft green lawn on which my kids can play. Tokyo is very hot and humid in summer (28C average), and cool and very dry in winter (8C average). It is occasionally as hot as 40C, and sometimes we have overnight frosts. Is there a grass variety which could survive and be healthy all year round in these conditions?
Thanks in advance!

All of my yard has hardpan adobe clay soil. Amending the soil would be a lot of work. I'm wondering if I can find some appealing plants that would grow well in clay soil.
