The warmest city in Canada is Victoria, British Columbia. It is considered in plant hardiness zone 8a, which would support the needs of the California Redwood tree (Sequoia sempervirens.) I have never visited there, but I would be astounded if I went there and did not find any Sequoias in planted areas. However, the Sequoia is not native to anywhere in Canada.
A close relative, the Wellingtonia Tree, Sequoiadendron giganteum, is more winter hardy and is most likely in use in Vancouver, BC (Zone 6b) Victoria, BC, and some other of the warmer Canadian cities as well. This species is not native to Canada either, but it tolerates the high rainfall of areas like coastal BC better than Sequoias, and can tolerate drier soils than Sequoias, too. The California Redwood in its native range gets more water from the condensation of coastal fogs onto its branches, dripping down into its root zone, than it does from rainfall. This is an unusual source of moisture for a tree and difficult to mimic in cultivation.

The lower mainland of British Columbia is home to many many old sequoia trees, in many communities.
We had one in our own garden.
A good stand of them is near Fort Langley along 96th Ave. Planted by a developer in the 1800's by the name of Hope who's family now has a golf course called "Redwoods" after the trees.
