I live in South Carolina and I have a very plain yard. I would like ideas of some easy care flowers that I can put in a flower bed that lines my front porch and the corners of my porch. (I have a typical house that is symmetrical in the front view and alot of shade in these areas I am asking ideas for) I also have a long (20'-25') cemment walkway in the center of the yard that I would like to plant along. I like that two tone grass that alot of people have its like I think mondo grass.....I dont know....any way I just want a pretty yard .....not expensive either incase I have a blue thumb instead of green......HELP!!

I had some rushes appear in my garden without planting them. They are well behaved, not spreading anywhere though they have been in my garden for a couple of years. I saw some at a garden shop for sale, but some websites suggest they are weeds or invasive. I live in the Pacific Northwest. anybody know this plant?

I have violets growing under a tree...I know that violets like neutral soil, about pH 7. The Soil is at pH 5.5 right now, and they are yellowing a bit. I know that coffee grounds make the soil more acidic, but I didn't know if there was anything out there (maybe baking soda) that would make the soil more alkaline.

When I first got my double impatiens they were dark pink and white. They were striped with just as much white as pink. Now they are almost all dark pink with very little white remaining at the edges. The plant is healthy and still flowering nicely but I miss the original color. Can anyone tell me how to restore them.

I planted a sunflower seed in a pot a few weeks ago. Although it is growing tall, it doesn't seem it's very healthy. Its colour is very light green, and the second set of leaves is not opening.

The pot can't leave the office since we're in a competition, so I've put the pot under a desk light and leave the light on night and day.

Please help me what is going wrong and what I should do to make it look healthy.

Thanks,
K

I am working on a garden of native plants. all are doing great but I also have wild morning glory that I weed out everyday to prevent it from strangling everybody else. Any way to get rid of it?

Hi my lawn is more weeds then grass. After buying a riding lawn mower and keeping the grass short, I hoped to prevent weeds from spreading. Bought a roofing blowtorch and fried some of the weeds, only to see them come back within a week. How about extra firtilizer, dethatching the lawn and even seeding grass seeds in the fall. What helps best other than plowing it under and using poison.

It is breaking up the space in between the cement blocks and the exterminater who came to the house said he could do nothing until the mole left the patio area. I would love an environmentally sound solution if there are any. Thanks

I stagger planted about 260 pumpkins. The smallest are about the size of a dinner plate, the largest are the size of a sofa. I spray them with Sevin, permethrin and a fungicide. I also spray them with Miracle Grow water soluable fertilizer. Can I combine all these into one application? If not, which should I apply in a split application, the fertilizer or the other chemicals?
