I was given one as a gift, and can't figure outwhere to put it, how much to water, it hasn't liked anything I've tried.

MADDY, READ ME! Before I answered your question I took a quick look at the sights the others suggest you go to for help. Pretty lame. I don't understand how anyone can answer a question by telling you to go look it up yourself. I see lame answers every day. Some so lame I want to scream. In case you haven't the time to check out those sights, here are a few basic
facts about your gift plant..
Needs heat to bloom. Train or place against a south or west facing wall preferably with additional reflected heat from paving.
Loves rich soil. Pinch to induce bushiness. (assume you have it staked or on a trellis?)
Regular water, full sun 'cept desert areas. For an extra kick in the bloom department, you might want to try "Super Bloom" plant food or any good quality plant food with a high bloom factor. Of the three numbers listed on plant food, the middle number represents the bloom or flower. The higher the middle number, the more good stuff going for blooms.
EXAMPLE: Miracle-Gro 24-8-16. 24% nitrogen (for leafy parts). 8% phosphorus (for blooms & flowers). 16% potassium (other stuff) Lots of stuff for foliage, not much for flowers. Get the highest middle number you can find.
example... 12-39-6 bigger middle number, bigger flower count.
So... keep it warm, wet and fed.
For future reference on any garden problem or questions try your local state univ coop extension, or county farm advisor's office and ask to speak to a MASTER GARDENER. Cool, smart people who know all about plants and stuff for your own area. (no more getting garden advise from someone who lives 1000 miles away from you) Master Gardeners only give the "best answer", and they give it 100% of the time. (sorry Yahoo!)
